This show is one of the single best I've seen in years. If they come to your town, it doesn't matter what night of the week or how early you have to get up the next day. Murphy is like a savant up there.

MIA/Diplo opened and were a lot of fun and had the crowd bumpin', but it honestly felt like I had watched her a week ago by the time LCD finished up.

PS- There is nothing funnier than "cookie cutter indie rock male fan" thinking they look cool dancing.

They're here next Friday and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. I dig the hell out of that LCD rekkid.
Tell me more about the live show. Is Murphy playing stuff the whole time, just singing, a combination of both?

when i saw them last year at coachella, murphy was singing and playing at the same time.

Naw. In the Next 100 issue of Urb they ask Diplo and he says no, and he says MIA's current man actually doesn't like him much at all.

dude, I want to go to this show so bad. It's just that it's like, the day before my wedding, so really, I just can't go.

He sang & played percussion ( Tambourine, Cowbell- insert Walken jokes here etc) They closed the set with "Yeah" & he joined in on the drums. His band is unbelievably tight, like CAN tight & he kind of waves his hands around toward the different musicians like he's conducting an orchestra.

A side note to the show- I had no idea it would sell out, so we went out to see if anyone was selling tickets and a guy from the club came out & told us and another couple diong the same thing that one of the promoters had ten "no" RSVP's from their guest list, so they were releasing ten tickets, but we had to wait & purchase food & drink in the adjoining bar to get them. We did, and ended up getting in the club before anyone else & watching Diplo set up all of his gear & soundcheck for MIA. He was playing an electronica mix from his Powerbook over the club speakers and that was nearly as enjoyable as the show itself.

What a night!

I am seeing M.I.A. and Diplo on Friday night; LCD Soundystem is playing Saturday night. I want to go, but I'm guessing they're sold out.

I'm psyched for Thursday's show at the Metro! Diplo is spinning afterwards at Smartbar.

Last year at the Bottle they were unreal!!! That was on a Tuesday night too! This shit ain't to be missed.

I think the live show enhances the record quite a bit and you can definitely "get" where he was going on especially some of the longer pieces like "Yeah". "Losing my edge" live makes you think your head might explode.

I would be surprised if they play like they did last night, if many people would walk away disappointed or find them boring. This is contingent on enjoying this type of music.

That new two disc album is good. Wish I could go see this show.
