This album always seems to grab a hold of me, no matter what the context, set, or setting I find myself.

The lyrics are vague enough, yet powerful enough, to just transform your interpretation to fit whatever it is that's on your mind at the time.

"That there
That's not me
I go
Where I please
I walk through walls
I float down the Liffey
I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here
I'm not here"

"I have seen too much
I haven't seen enough
You haven't seen it
I'll laugh until my head comes off
Women and children first
And children first
And children"

"i'm on your side
nowhere to hide
trap doors that open
i spiral down
you're living in a fantasy
you're living in a fantasy
i'm lost at sea
don't bother me
i've lost my way
i've lost my way
you're living in a fantasy
you're living in a fantasy
you're living in a fantasy
in this beautiful world"

'red wine and sleeping pills
help me get back to your arms
cheap sex and sad films
help me get where i belong
i think you're crazy, maybe
i think you're crazy, maybe
stop sending letters
letters always get burned
it's not like the movies
they fed us on little white lies
i think you're crazy, maybe
i think you're crazy, maybe
i will see you in the next life
beautiful angel
pulled apart at birth
limbless and helpless
i can't even recognize you
i think you're crazy, maybe
i will see you in the next life"

I mean I practically just pasted the whole album into here. Motion Picture Soundtrack just absolutely rips me apart every time. When the harps come in on the second go-around, after the first was so beautiful that you couldn't possibly imagine that it could be more beautiful...but they do it anyway. then, one of the most impactful lyrics of the entire album, and maybe of radiohead's career emerge: "i think you're crazy, maybe/i will see you in the next life."

Do any other Radiohead songs make you feel so much emotion with so few lyrics (aside from say, pure instrumentals)?

I'm a believer. This is the best album made after/during the year 2000 in my opinion, and there are very few others that I might consider at all.

I know this certainly isn't anything that hasn't been said before, but damn. This album is doing exactly what I need for me at such a terrible time.

My vote for "Most Compelling" album... Hmm.

Probably Laura Nyro's New York Tendaberry. Yeah, that's a good choice.

And I never considered the vagueness of Kid A's lyrics to be a good thing.

I'm not sure what I would consider the most compelling album of all time. Possibly Pink Floyd's 'The Wall,' as unoriginal as that is. It's definitely not Kid A though.

Shit, if we're just talking compelling, Shatner's album last year beats out Kid A

Not compelling, or even listenable. In fact, it is 100% Crap.

Blinded By Rainbows is better than anything Radiohead has put out post-OKC

I voted "yes" to "pulling my soul apart", but I my concept of "compelling" is a little fuzzy. There are tons of albums I like better, but I still love Kid A. Radiohead's last great (good?) album.

I used to say that until I actually listened to both albums back-to-back. I'm a man about it, I admit I was wrong and everyone else was right.

Just this one time...

It looks like the Georgians borrowed their grandpappys' stills and brewed up some "Haterade" of their own - Radiohead special reserve.

(two can play the lame insult game!)

Haq, Gar is Gar. Sometimes things are undeniable.

I often like to pretend that Atlanta isn't really in Georgia. I know I'm not the only one.

Kid A compels me to puncture my eardrums with dirty sticks. Is that what you're asking?

It's a great record but it doesn't pull my soul apart. I will admit though the songs from Kid A/Amnesiac are always my favorite ones to see live.

It's interesting to see the Mongerous crew seem to ahve the same beef with Radiohead that I have with Weezer.

I like to think of it at Atlanta/Savannah and the rest as a void. Except for Augusta, it gets a right to exist on Masters weekend.

I was going to say "Atlanteans," but then I remembered that some of you are on backwater farms screwing mules.
