I recently made some reference on another board to how awful EVE 6's lyrics are. It got me thinking about some of my cheesier lyrics from the past.

So come on, post the lines and stanzas that embarrass you now.

Here. I'll start.

my groaners:

"four tables, a chair, and a coffin; no waiters, no air, just a coffin. "

"youth artificial
youth temperamental
youth they don't need us
unless they start a war
i'm going to get a chance to have a say
youth has it's time
the time is now "

"reverance syndication squad moving in on proven target "

"you work in pain
and you play in immobility
these helpless ways
keep you from the sun"

"Backwards
destruction follows
hatred
finds holes in time
treason
will close doors behind
and no one holds the key."

"sitting lightly
much too lightly
like a number of monkeys
don't confuse me with doctors
the indifference grows
the seed is sewn"

"He began the new ice age absent of his sanity; His horsedrawn covered carriage of freedom and hate. "

"I've got a conversation headache
I've talked too much about you."

oh man - here's the bottom of the frickin' barrel:

"You are the bread in my defeat sandwhich. "

[insert red-faced emoticon here]

"She played doctor. Cut herself up. She lost blood in the most tasteful way."

"a thousand tiny men sit inside me and laugh. from the outside you say it's crying, so i can never tell. "

P-U. nasty work.

This is a goldmine of potential signatures.

The silent sound of a falling tree
The backside of a hand as it comes to strike me
The shattering of a glass as it falls to the floor
The chase commences as as run, scared toward the door

Well I'm not perfect
But I don't pretend to be
Don't get down
Don't get down on me

I think it was the second song I ever wrote.
(The first one actually, wasn't bad!)

first song i ever wrote & saved:

"
i've gotta tell ya
about something you should know
when the sun is up
these people lie low
but when the night falls
they all come out
just listen good
and you can hear them scream & shout

in the nite
they will come
they'll arrive
in the nite
in the nite
you better run
cuz they will thrive
in the nite
"

i find my earlier songs have much simpler lyrics than my newer stuff, but they're often more catchier.

chorus:

"Estranged from the sun..."
*cue swirly dream-pop music*

[circa 1995, first "real" song I ever wrote]

Oh... no... not true...

First real song ever written, circa 1991:
(excluding my attempts in grade 4)

verse:
"...I'm floating in a time without perspective
love freezing the close past
inject me
reject me
pull me close
then push me far.
...and the smothering smell of Summer drowns philosophy.
"

awww yeah, High School lyrics reprazent!

Oh yes, and there was that song about suicide called "There Goes My PaperRoute" (jointly written).

Tell me this part is spoken rather than sung, if so it becomes in my top ten must have song canons right now. You need to keep these lyrics and record them as hardcore songs ASAP.

Mine are so bad I canned 'em. I have a terrible tendency to become "preachy". Everything's in the first person, too.

You this, you that, you suck, I hate you, you should know better, why are you surprised. Blah blah blah.

I've only ever kept one song (I consider it my first "real" song), but I haven't been able to find the lyrics for years now. I'm actually quite proud of those lyrics, so they aren't appropriate to this thread (although others might think so).
