Anyone hear this yet. A glance at the tracklist reveals many unfamiliar names as compared to the set of demo/early tracks that I downloaded. Are they just renamed, or are they different tracks?

The demo's of which you know were scheduled to be released, but they got leaked on the net, and it became so widespread that the band decided to scrap em, and re-write the record....

I've been listening to this new Team Sleep recently and I was a little bit disappointed. I really liked the ambient stuff they had done before, especially the Mogwai-influenced Natalie Portman and The Passportal track from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack.

I think its the Deftones singer, I don't like his voice and it doesn't fit well with this band's music.

IMO: the best song is Ever (Foreign Flag).

Brief info about the band:

Team Sleep originated as Deftones frontman Chino Moreno's idea to create a softer, moody side project. Originally, the song ‘Teenager’ (released in 2000 on the Deftones record ‘White Pony’) was meant to be a Team Sleep song. DJ Crook, a long-time friend and roommate of Frank Delgado, had done the beats on ‘Teenager’. Chino Moreno decided to start Team Sleep with DJ Crook, and Chino's childhood friend, Todd Wilkinson. To this day, Zach Hill and Rick Verrett were added to the permanent roster as their drummer and bassist.

The band has already put out a small number of official releases including the instrumental ‘The Passportal’ on the Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack. Songs that were originally recorded in 2001/02 were scrapped from release because they were leaked to Californian radio stations.

Team Sleep remixed a Tinfed song called ‘Drop’. This was released on Tinfed's remix album, ‘Designated Rivals’. Also, some of the shows from their early West coast tour were bootlegged and are now floating around the internet. These shows were: Team Sleep at the Cactus Club (San Jose), and Team Sleep at Harlows (Sacramento). There is also a video bootleg of Team Sleep at the Glasshouse (Pomona).

Team Sleep’s official debut album will be released on May 10th featuring guests such as Mike Patton, Sonny Mayugba and Mary Timony. The album has been delayed due to record company bureaucracy and the busy schedules of various band members.
