Xbox 360 will be out by end of the year, with 25-40 titles out. PS3 won't be out until Spring 2006. I'm pretty pumped about the new Xbox.

Best thing about Revolution is that it'll let you choose and download from Nintendo's entire library of games. I haven't been a gamer for years, but that seems pretty damn sexy.

I have a ps2, but I must say, nintendo is much better at games that you can just turn on and play with a bunch of friends and immediately be good at and have a good time playing. For instance, mario kart, mario golf, etc. It seems like for most ps2 games, you have to study the manual and put a lot of effort in to learning the game to have fun.

Nintendo need to stop being pansies about violence in order to start moving units like the big boys.

I was in Kmart's parking lot at 5:00 am waiting for that mofo to open when the X-Box first came out, and I may have to do the same for this bad boy...But the PS3 looks so sweet..and super powerful...oh...decisions, decisions....

Ha, well I did you one better and spent the night in the Best Buy parking lot with a friend (and other assorted losers) so he could buy a second Xbox (limit of 1 per person) and sell it on Ebay. I didn't buy one for myself until 2 years later.

I'm sticking with the Sony brand name, even though downloading Nintendo's entire lineup of games sounds pretty neat. Kid Icarus, Punch Out...

re4 was violent enough for almost anyone. nintendo needs to get some developers interested and stop focusing so much on crusty old mascots. also, the specs on the revolution are pretty pathetic. that is definitely their last piece of hardware before they switch exclusively to development like sega did.

Pick up this week's Time with Gates on the cover for a pretty thorough article about the new 360. I'm pretty damn psyched about this and I've been sorta out of the game loop since really PS2 first came out. I just really got into other shit, like working.

Anyone hear what these will retail for? I'd be surprised if it's as low as $300.

Xbox 360 could be $300. They'll have to sell at a big loss because Sony has them outpowered.

Personally, I care about the games more than the power of the system. I still play Jet Grind Radio, Shenmue II, Soul Calibur, and Ikaruga on Dreamcast.

I read part of that article. There was a really stupid quote by Gates. "It's perfect," Gates says, radiant with bloodlust. "The day Sony launches (the new Playstation), and they walk right into Halo 3." Like one fucking game is going to derail the PS3. Idiot.

I definitely agree Gate's comment was a little wack, but hasn't Halo become absolutely huge?? You know that game alone would move units. (just typing that makes me think how much the band "moving units" fucking sucked live. they followed autolux too!) Game on!

I read something today (and I can't remember where) putting the PS3 MSRP in the $450 range.

halo was the reason xbox was anything at all. i think it's perfectly reasonable to think it will give 360 the edge. what game will have people saying "i need a ps3 so i can play that"? maybe a new gta, but you can't play that will your buddies. a massively multiplayer gta tho - that would bring the roof down.

killzone 2 looks pretty awesome. also, nintendo dropped specs at their press conference today.

I don't get the big deal about Halo, isn't it just another first person shooter like Doom & Wolfenstein? Those games bore me to death.
