Ok, so I've owned Building Something...., thought they were really meh, saw them live, kinda warmed to 'em (was pretty blown away), have heard The Moon and Antartica (its ok), bought Good News (love it, it holds up for me)

So what else should I get. And more particularly, whos got some live shows? They allowed taping when I saw them open for BTS (I only had enough MD's for Martsch and co.) so i know there is msome boots out there.

Lonesome Crowded West is my personal favorite, but be warned - I thought Good News... was absolutely dreadful.

Definitely time to get Lonesome Crowded West, their best album, IMO.

Lonesome's the best. Though This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About is great, as well.

Lonesome is indeed the best.

You may like the Ugly Casanova record.

i have heard it, actually. I've actually heard it all back in the day, i was just very dismissive of their stuff; i was more a BTS man at the time;

And thank yall for the suggestions. If anybody interested in an exchange,AIM, or YSI click the lil Yail button and well hammer it out.

Yail- give Moon & Antarctica another shot. It's a great record, but the least similar to B2S. I'm a huge fan of both bands being a good loyal northwesterner and all. Lonesome Crowded West is a great one as well.

Lonesome Crowded West or Long Drive, though i'm sure that live disc Baron von Bullshit is probably a great idea a well.

Not a huge fan, but LCW is pretty choice (and the only one I own). Not a favorite around here, but Ugly Cassanova's 'Sharpen Your Teeth' might be worth checking out. I liked it much when it came out, but haven't visited anything MM since.

the guy who played with isaac brock on ugly cassanova, chris orth, has a band called holopaw that is outstanding. much more pastoral in the will oldham vein. two songs to d/l are "abraham lincoln" and "teacup woozy". lovely.

. . .and an 8.6 on the 'fork for what it's worth

c.

edit: and it looks like there's a new album coming out in august.

Seems like we have a "which Modest Mouse album should I buy" thread every 6 months or so. The correct answer is: all of them.

But as many others have said, I would start with Lonesome Crowded West.
