I just want to say that the music of the show is so great. I got my roommate hooked on the show last night, and it was his first time really watching the show. He just kept saying "Man, this is intense" or "This is so good."

Also, here is a piece from npr on the show's composer, Michael Giacchino: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=4666432

Finale was a huge disappointment. The hatch leads to a shaft - thought of this long ago, dismissed it as way too simple for a show this smart and complex. The others wanted Walt - similarly obvious and simple. I want to know where the big "Who shot JR" cliffhanger is - the show's creators had been promising this for weeks in every article I've seen. Okay, so the "island hillbillies" was a surprise - but a stupid one. And the island monster is apparently a roller coaster powered by an old steam-engine train, by the sound of it. And where was the also-promised "2-5% reveal" of the mysterious island creature?

What was great was Hurley's story - he's the heart of this show and every scene with him is made more enjoyable simply by him being there. Arzt getting blowed all up, that was pretty entertaining, as well as Hurley's comment "Dude . . . you've got a little Arzt on you." I guess we were also supposed to infer that the French lady's daughter, Alex, was on the hillbilly boat.

But overall . . . just a disappointment.

I thought it was dissappointing too. It was like slight of hand, there was a lot going on but they didn't reveal anything.

And that hatch reveal was horrible and uninspired.

I'll give it a few episodes next year but if they're going to keep up with this pace of nothing ever happening, I'll quickly jump ship.

I would probably err on the side of 'disappointed' as well. By the soundbites we were getting about the "cliffhanger", I thought it would be a real "Holy SHIT!" type reaction, but it was pretty much standard tv show 'end of season' type stuff. I was expecting something spectacular regarding the hatch, particularly after Walt's warning to Locke and the light that Locke also saw in response to his pleas to the Island. I honestly never really thought much about Walt though, that the Others might him. Maybe I'm dull.

I'd give it a 6/10. Maybe 6.5 because Artz blew up.

I just saw the rerun. Unfortunately, I found it a bit disappointing, too, though I think it has to do mostly with the hatch. I don't mind it having led to a shaft, but they really should have revealed a little bit more to draw us in. I guess it leads to the same place the security system leads to.

I was pretty happy with this show before the ending, though. The revelation that Danielle had tried to harm Claire originally was pretty interesting, as is the fact that Locke might have been on to her. Walt being taken was pretty wild.

So much for my theory of the rafters bumping into another raft with people from the tail section. I guess that would have been kinda cheesy.
