looks like i'm returning for my 4th summerfest, from 07/01 to 09, since leaving WI. hoping to see ben folds & death cab for cutie. big vh fan friend wants to go to david lee roth. (i'm going to miss hall & oates there AGAIN!)

anyone else goin'?

[EDIT: most openers ARE known @ www.summerfest.com]

I'll be there for the same set of dates. I don't know who, if anybody, I want to see play, though. Live shows are not doing it for me anymore. And Summerfest live shows, even less.

Last good SF show I caught was Ben Folds Five at the Miller Oasis in 2000.

Even that could have been better, too. I saw my erstwhile friend Mike's object of woo -- and whom I now believe to be his wife and baby-mother -- a section of seats and three rows over, and I thought to cock-block Mike, but I couldn't do it.

I should have, though. I should have.

I haven't seen the schedule yet, hopefully there is something on the side stages worth going to.

Goin' on 7/01 to catch Tom Petty and The Black Crows, but that's it. Would love to see Death Cab, but I'll catch 'em @ Lollapalooza I guess.

The day of Death Cab, is also the night of Pixies/Weezer at the main Stage.

I wouldn't pay to see Weezer again, though i love their old tunes, Death Cab for $12 admission is a bargin.

i just don't like weezer at all. if someone else was with pixies, i might go to that instead.

death cab for cheap is a good 1b.

looks like friend & i are going to david lee roth (he's a big vh fan -- if i can coax him away, we'll slip over to hall & oates), moby, ben folds & death cab for cutie (w/devin davis opening).

friend bought us some $5 passes, so we'll be there during the early window, then either stay for the day or hand-stamp & come back later. might go to other stuff too, but this is what we're planning on.

Nah, Summerfest just hasn't looked good to me since 96. All the decent acts are too spread apart now instead of on the same days.

who goes everyday anyways? i think a better reason not to go are the crowds, but i'm going to persevere. just death cab for cutie for park-entry-price is a good deal.

I'll be there at some point mainly for the overpriced beer and good people-wachin'.

i'm pretty sure if you get there early enough in the day, you can go over to the amphitheater and get a stamp or a ticket for free lawn seats for the night's big show. i could be completely wrong, however. or they could have changed the rules, as i have not been to summerfest in two years and don't plan on going any time soon.

yeah, summerfest still has early-bird hand stamps for the ampitheatre shows.
