It's been a long time since the Man Machine has graced the midwest and they didn't disappoint. I don't think I've heard the Riv that loud in a long time. I'm curious to hear if anyone else was there and your thoughts.

Favorite parts:

Radioactivity, Pocket Calculator, Boing Boom Tschak, and of course, Robots.

I saw them in DC, and they were, of course, fabulous. I was, however, slightly disappointed. It really wasn't much more than a glorified version of four guys hunkered down over laptops. I was really expecting much more. Especially from the robots. (Can you imagine a live version of Herbie Hancock's Rockit video?)

Robots was great, Trans Europe Express/Metal On Metal was terrific (MOM could be the first "industrial" song ever), Autobahn was fun, opening with Man Machine was good, Pocket Calculator == !!!, (Stop) Radioactivity was an interesting twist, Numbers/Computer World is one of my favourites ever anyway, It's More Fun To Compute is another fave...I was in heaven, haven't seen these guys since...1981?

It was awesome.

i also had guest-list for the dears and shout out louds last night. at this point, free shows trump. i heard that saturday's show was amazing, though.
