Dudes. The soundtrack has "Hair of the Dog" on it.

The Social D cover of "Death Or Glory" is awful. Christ, Mike, you're old enough to know better.

This is like Dazed and Confused in SoCal. Soundtrack movie.

Tony Alva: Dude, got any grip tape on ya?
Stacy Peralta: Nah, dude.
Tony Alva: Be a lot cooler if you did, bro.

awesome.

the Search for Animal Chin, anyone?

I recently read that they are making an extended chin version to be released this year some time...All the old BB heads are supposed to be in it...

Check out Powell-Peralta.com. They are adding bonus footage to "Chin" and doing the Bones Brigade documentary. Also, a P-P coffee table art book is in the works. I'm stoked about all that stuff. I recently picked up Mountain and Caballero re-issue decks to hang on the wall.

Jay Adams is going to be in town tomorow breaking in the new pool at Kona Skatepark. I'm going to go check it out.

As far as Lords of Dogtown, I'm willing to give it a try. I'm sure I'll like it because I'm into skating and skate culture. Not the new stuff but the old stuff.

ok, so not only did Henry Rollins give this movie a good review on his IFC show, but several friends have now said it's worth seeing. Hmmm. Still think I'll wait for dvd on this one.

I thought the Dogtown documentary sucked infected cock. Peralta had her grubby claw in Riding Giants, though, which was tip-top. Won't see Lords, but I'd definitely see a movie on Christian Hasoi or Mark Gator Rogowski.

they already made a movie about Gator. Dogtown is better.

I thought the pace was deathmarch slow and the characters dreadfully boring. The history of skateboarding I liked well enough, but it seems an awful lot of time was spent exploring the famed store where the team got their name, and the inventor of those stupid cadillac wheels. The speed racing and poolskating was pretty hip, I admit. But after 45 minutes of practically the same material, well, let's just say Return of the Sith was more entertaining. That, and there's only so much valleyboy chatter a man can stand. Even the drama revolving the boys' upbringing was pretty lame. By the end of the movie, I was kind of hoping that blonde skater would bite it. Again, infected cock.

Apples & oranges, I know, but the Riding Giants story was infinitely better. The characters were interesting and somewhat intelligent, and their personal stories much more fascinating. Flirting with death makes for greater entertainment, no doubt.

you didn't mention the only part of the doc i didn't like, the over the top glowing "these guys invented the idea of breathing! before dogtown people didn't even know how to breath THEY INVENTED THE IDEA OF INHALING AND EXHALING!!!!"

but on the whole i find it infinitely watch able, and have seen it about 15 times.
