i just listened to the first track on Common's new record, Be (intro), and for a song with such a tasty tasty hook, it is too understated/doesn't show off enough, and just leaves me wanting more. There are heaps of songs out there like this....

Most Beatles songs.
Every song off The La's (except "Looking Glass")
And, believe it or not, at 7.5 minutes, "Tender" by Blur, could go on forever and I would not mind.

The last song on The Colour And The Shape. I think it's called New Way Home.

NONE. I wish most songs were shorter.

This might explain my love for albums like Pink Flag.

I wish the instrumental end section of Talking Heads 'I'm Not In Love' went on for at least seven more minutes than it currently does.

What does that mean? Are you suggesting that perhaps in the future it may be extended?

"Slim Slow Slider"; the last song on Van Morrison's Astral Weeks. All the way through the album I am just drawn into the world he creates. The fact that the last song ends so abruptly is kind of strange and disturbing to me. (I guess it's on purpose, but it actually feels like a mistake.)

I'm new here.

-ish.

Smartassery is a great word. I'm going to use it.

For my money it doesn't get any better than "Rainbow in the Dark" by a prophet named Dio.
