What the hell. Will these be released later on vinyl or am I gonna have to pay import prices to get dat vinyl?

i was told that the white stripes are re-recording get behind me satan specifically for vinyl. so, with them touring this summer, i'm guessing it won't be done for awhile. at least, that's what the people in my record store told me when i whined about it.

I thought the advance copies were on vinyl. Wouldn't that just mean extra work?

that's exactly what i said, but they insisted it'd be re-recorded. whatever. if they change it up in some ways, i think it'll be worthwhile.

I just saw the White Stripes on vinyl at a store here in Montreal. Didn't think anything of it. You can send your cash plus postage to me, if you want ...

NO WHITE STRIPES LP.....YET
XL have announced that the new White Stripes album "Get Behind Me Satan", due for release in the first week of June, will not be available on LP, at least for the time being. The reason for this is that Jack and Meg have an ambitious project in mind for later in the year.
Once their summer tour dates have been and gone, they hope to go back in to the studio and re-record the album, live in the studio, in one take! The result of this session will be cut for the LP release. First though, Jack and Meg need a little time on the road so that they can perfect the live arrangements of the new material.

It's an interesting concept, and the first time we've heard of different recordings for each format. We just hope the band find the time (and the inclination) to go back in the studio after a busy summer, and not let us vinyl fans down!

I am going to Quebec City for the MTB World Cup next week so I will pick it up there. Thanks for the tip. Of course I will remeber this and attempt tot get people to buy me imports whenever necessary.

i got the white stripes lp promo, but i'd kill for a copy of the coldplay.

Does anyone know if coldplay released on vinyl in canada? I am gonna call a record shop up there and find out. So far all I seen is a UK release.

Yeah if I find it up there I will buy and extra copy. It appears to be UK only. I am gonna call Capitol Records and see if I can get som answers.
