 Post subject: itunes/hard drive question

so I am going to have to get an external hard drive to house the thousands of songs i have in iTunes. once I get it, do I need to put just the songs on the hard drive, or both the song files and itunes?

you can just change your itunes directory to be the directory on the new drive. It's in the options. Just make sure your ipod is disconnected through all of this if you've got auto-update on.
