The problem is kittens grow into cats. Not that I have anything against cats. It's just that dogs are cuter than cats. But in infancy, it's a bloodthirsty battle for the title of cutest.

I just gave away the 3 kittens we had this weekend (the ones that were born under my nightstand). The little male had gotten under my skin... such a good cat. I was choking up out in the garage, trying to cut plywood and shit, after they drove off with him.

Wrong! Kittens are cute, and cats are still cute. Dogs are cute generally only as puppies. It's a fact.

If you were around them for a while, Colin, you'd possibly get over it. Of course, this would mean like 6 months of feeling absolutely shitty.

Agreed.

I think cats are always adorable.

Speaking of cats, our kitten managed to tear a hole in our box spring and now he keeps climbing up within it and hanging out. Of course that usually means we have to remove the mattress , lift the boxspring and shake him out of it.

Because of this I had to put a small amp and a guitar case in front of out bedroom door, which is shut but not latching for some fucked up reason, to keep the kitten out while I'm at work the next couple hours.

It's always fun at midnight to be pulling your mattresses off your bed.

one of our cats used to do that as well - we couldn't find her and we would see two glowing eyes coming from under the bed

i agree - our cats are still cute - cisco likes to be held upside down in my lap like a baby

They are both adorable in their own way.

Yes, cats love to have their little hiding spots.

on my old old bed...my cat jazz had scratched a hole on the bottom of my box springs and would climb up inside it.

before i figured out what was going on....
it was REALLY scary to wake up to find your bed shaking around and you were moving. (or drinking.)

Yeah it is funny when I move my hands to the side of the bed and something is whacking my fingers. Or to feel a scratching and pushing feeling coming underneath you.

This is the cat that figured out that the shiny thing on the toilet makes a funny noise if you push it down. He also shuts our doors by standing up, putting his paws on them and then walks them shut. Until we discovered last night that our bedroom door wasn't latching I thought he figured out how to turn the handle to open it. haa

Obviously a "Todd".

Well, maybe a "Steve".

Just don't name him anything humiliating like "Mr. Whiskers".

We must have the easiest cats ever or something. They've never done anything like this. The worst they've done is scratch the boxspring corner, which shredded it, but they've never done anything weird like that. I hear all these horror stories about cats smelling, cats attacking, cats destroying everything in your house, peeing everywhere, etc., and aside from the occasional scratching at things, they're as perfect pets as I could imagine. They have two spots each they tend to favor to scratch, but it's far from destroying all the furniture.

What will be interesting is when we introduce my brother-in-law's cat to them sometime this week. He brought her over last night before he went on vacation, and we managed to sneak her into one of the bedrooms unseen. The cats were mighty confused later on, smelling each other like "Is that you? Who do I smell? That's not you." They still seem to be completely ignorant that there's another cat in the house. I have no idea how this is going to work out - they've never been around any other animals. I'm just praying for no bloodshed.

I once had a cat, Crystal, who learned how to ring the doorbell when she wanted to be let in. This was a very cute trick except in the middle of the night. She would not stop until she was inside.

Cats know how get their way everytime.

Haha. Really? A fact? And what respected source are you quoting for this factual statement? The Journal of Mot's Subjective Opinion on Pets? :)
