01 The Wire

After finally making it through Season 2 on DVD I have to admit that I am completely obsessed with this show. Cory, we need to start an ongoing discussion thread.

And when does Season 3 come out on DVD? I need to see it again.

Not a clue.

One of the best parts of this show is all the inside Baltimore shit. For instance, the deacon that was counseling Cutty after he got out of prison is Little Melvin Williams, a former heroin kingpin in Baltimore City.

Actually, I saw Cutty in a commercial just the other day.

Det. Ed Norris is former city and state police chief Ed Norris, who is now serving house arrest in Tampa after being in federal prison for all sorts of shit.

Friend of mine ran into Omar at a bar a couple years ago. Said he was a cool fucking guy, and the scar is real.

Not including re-runs I'd have to say:

1. Arrested Development
2. The Simpsons
3. The Shield

I think these are the only shows I watch regularly.

1. The Wire
2. Arrested Development
3. Lost
4. The Shield
5. Deadwood

Honorable Mention: Daily Show, Sopranos (which would be number 2 or 3 if it ever aired), Veronica Mars

The Wire is just too fucking good. I've only seen the first two seasons, though, so be careful about spoiling Season Three.

By the way, I saw Bubs at my gym. He looked healthy.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaT??? The actor or the real dude?

I've heard that Season 4 will be based around the educational system and I'm guessing, a drug conspiracy sorrounding (LooGar told me that, not unlike the political subterfuge in Season 3, this is another story based in Baltimore reality)

So Cory and any other Wire fans--who will be running Avon's crew? Brianna? Cutty? Bodie risin up?

Or is the Barksdale crew done?

The actor. Michael K. Williams I think is his name. I ain't heard shit on season 4 yet, and haven't really thought about it. We have to get another shitty season of The Sopranos out of the way first.

Actually, if you believe the scuttlebutt, they will both be debuting sometime around March 2006. (is that must see TV or what?)

I think you guys are referencing season three, so I'll proceed with caution from here on out.

The only way I recognized Bubs was from his strut. A friend of mine saw him at a local taco stand. That dude is everywhere.

5. (tie) Scrubs/The Simpsons (even as a shell of it's former self, it's better than everything but the following four)
4. Family Guy
3. King of the Hill/Boston Legal (DENNYCRANE!)
2. Lost
1. Curb Your Enthusiasm

The Sopranos

Tour de France (when it was on... my nights have been lonely without watching OLN coverage)

Lost (I'm catching this on the repeats since I didn't watch the initial season)

Green Wing (very funny show on BBC America)

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (yes, I still watch this)

i'm trying really hard to respect your wishes here Watermelon, but how can I get any legit Wire talk going without discussing Season 3? :P

The last season of Sopranos was horrible. I don't even really want to watch the new season.

Watermelon Gun, no worries, I ain't gonna talk about nothing heavy from S3. Watch out for Bloor though.
