And I'm about to spend $200 more. But for some reason I'm not quite satisfied with this list. What should I add, what should I scratch? I've had the feeling that I'm completely missing a few gems, so I decided to come here for advice. Here's my shopping cart on alldirect.com:

Failure - Fantastic Planet
Mirah - C'mon Miracle
Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun
Blind Melon - Self-titled
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Sebadoh - Bakesale
Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me
Meat Puppets - II
Shudder to Think - Pony Express Record
Apples in Stereo - Fun Trick Noisemaker
Spiritualized - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space
Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy
Howling Hex - All-Night Fox
Panda Bear - Young Prayer
Dirty Projectors - Slaves' Graves & Ballads
Ted Leo - Hearts of Oak
Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Dandy Warhols - Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia
Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider
Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt
Jeff Buckley - Live in Chicago (DVD)

A few of the artists in my last order were Elliott Smith, Andrew Bird, Decemberists, New Pornographers, Magnetic Fields (69 Love Songs box set), Devendra Banhart, Frog Eyes. That should give enough hints as to what I like.

I hope this isn't too much of an odd request, but help will be appreciated.

I can't recommend you anything without knowing more about what you have, but.....

- For Sebadoh, get Bubble and Scrape and III instead. If you can only go with one, definitely get Bubble and Scrape.
- Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me is a great album, but in my opinion, their self-titled is their best. Try to pick up both.
- Meat Puppets - I think their first album is by far their best, but not many would share that opinion, so II might be your best bet.
- The only Shudder to Think I own is the Funeral at the Movies/Ten Spot compilation, but it's worth the price that Dischord charges for it.
- No matter how many people tell you Ladies and Gentlemen... is Spiritualized's best album, PICK UP LAZER GUIDED MELODIES INSTEAD. Just trust me on this one.
- Definitely pick up the Howling Hex
- Also get the Panda Bear, but only if you're a big Animal Collective fan (particulary Sung Tongs)
- Bandwagonesque's first track is fucking amazing, and the rest is just good/alright. Get it, but don't spend too much on it.
- Dungen is a good choice if you're into the whole psychedelic thing.

Although I haven't heard a couple albums on the list, you can do without most of the stuff I didn't mention, with the exception of My Bloody Valentine and Kyuss.

II has "Split Myself In Two" which is the best thing they ever did. Says so in the scriptures.

I agree. "Split Myself in Two" (and "Lake of Fire") are better than anything on the first album, but as a whole, II just doesn't do it for me in comparison..

Mirage has "I Am A Machine" which is the best thing they ever did. Says so in the scriptures.

I disagree with this and Makes no Sense at All. YLAOM is their best.

these are staples for me and i could not image then not in my collection:

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Sebadoh - Bakesale
Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me
Meat Puppets - II
Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See

and each are my favorite album by that artist too.

i agree that you should get spriritualized - 'lazer guided melodies' instead of 'ladies and gentlemen...' (that is if you do not already own it)

looking at for previous purchases i wonder if you have purchased the new sufjan stevens - 'illinoize' album?

Those all look great just as they are with the exception of Ted Leo. Tyranny of Distance is absolutely his best. I think I can get a lot of backup on here.

Also, whatever you do, do not scratch that Shudder to Think. Love.
And if you're in the market for Sufjan Stevens, get Seven Swans.

I was going to buy Sufjan Stevens' Illinois but it wasn't available on alldirect.com so I just put it on the backburner.

The Ted Leo CDs I'm getting are just adding to my collection. I already have Shake the Sheets and Tyranny.

Most of the stuff I listed, I had downloaded at one point or another. I remember enjoying the Panda Bear album but I didn't care for Animal Collective.

I'll have to check out that other Spiritualized album it seems. I had Ladies & Gentlemen downloaded and liked it.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Mirah and Okkervil will not disappoint.

The Dandy Warhols wear quickly on me, whatever they do, so I guess I'd recommend staying away from them generally.

I'm having a hard time seeing the greatness in Bandwagonesque. I like 13 better.
