sometimes i hate saying this to people without children because it seems exclusionary, but it's the truth. no matter how hard you try to imagine it, you will never understand what it means and feels like to be a parent until you are one.

Whenever my dad sees me hugging and kissing my guys, he smiles and, on more than one occasion has uttered to me, "Now you know."

He's right.

I know where Yail is coming from on this. I think Walsh started his crusade genuinely driven by grief and a desire to minimize the number of missing children, but I also think he has grown more and more consumed by his own celebrity over the years. I've seen the guy speak in person at a meeting once, and he was literally trying to take credit PERSONALLY for all the criminals found on America's Most Wanted. He is actually convinced that it's all his doing.

I think he would trade ANYTHING to have his son back, but celebrity would definitely be the hardest for him to part with. He'd actually have to think about it for a minute.
