I thought that 18yr old kid who jumped from the Upper Deck at Yankee Stadium was an absolute moron, but this guy beats him by a long shot. He freaking quit his job so he could play more video games. I'm not one who believes in kharma or fate, but something saved a bit of humanity by having this guy die after playing 50hrs of video games.
I feel bad for his family, since I am guessing this sort of thing probably brings alot of dishonor, but I can't imagine telling my family I stopped working so I could play more Tecmo Bowl and Tetris, or if I was high tech with the XBox or PS2/3, the most recent edition of NCAA Football.

The article I read says absolutely nothing about making any cash from it. I'm not tech savvy enough to know if you can win a lot of cash from playing on-line battle simulation games all day.

How exactly do you die from this? The article said exhaustion, but people are up for at least 50 hours all the time...

Well, one of the ways is you get a player to a certain point of advancement, and then you sell the player.

I've known entire LAN parties that've lasted longer than that. Two days, c'mon. We had an intern who left work early on Friday and came in late on Monday, and she said she hadn't gotten any sleep (she has since given up that life).
