The whole back half of our spa flooded something wicked a while ago. I was here by myself of course(my boss was at a lunch meeting down the street). So I was ankle deep in sewer water for a bit today. We had to cancel 90% of our appts because the rooms were such a disaster.

Turns out it was a city issue cause the place next door did too. Yay

BUT on the bright side of the day, our Spa is being featured is several segments during a course of two hours on monday morning on WGN. I get to play model for a few minutes and have a fire cupping done.

So if you watch you'll see my back and hear me speak!

This takes place between 7 am and 830 so tape it if you can!

uhhh, fire cupping?

I can visualize the cupping part (mmmmm), but you lost me with the fire.

Fire cupping is a lot of fun. Although your back doesn't look too good immediately after.

They call it fire cupping because they have to use flame to heat up the cups and then they take the cups and apply them straight to your back or neck and suction the skin up into them. It's becoming a known massage technique that's popular in eastern medicine.

We're one of two spas in chicago that performs it, it's still just catching on. Gwyneth made it famous a year or so ago when she had it done and it appeared in a magazine.

I'm nervous.

My mom used to do this me and my siblings whenever we had a cold or got sick. It did wonders, let me tell you.

well there goes that idea. I thought it had more to do with something along the lines of this:

I didn't know I was going to have to speak but she shoved the mic
rophone under my face during the fire cupping and asked me a question. weird.
