just now with Iraqi president...

Katrina exposed "serious problems in the response capability at all levels of government"

"didn't do its job right"

"I take full responsibility"

"I want to know what went right and what went wrong"

Doesn't mean he's necessarily going to oversee implementation of anything different, but it's the right thing to say to "go ahead and move forward" as he's fond of saying.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the polls he doesn't pay attention to.

Good, about time.

Not to hijack, but...
Do we have the most retarted governor on earth or what? I would take a Somalian warlord over this bitch. Sheesh. She needs to say the same thing.

Did y'all catch the interview where she says she can't remember when she called in the national guard. I thought she was gonna cry for second. Resign already.

She reminds me of a high school guidance counselor conscripted to be principal because the principal and the vice principals all ate bad cheese in the staff room.

I can smell her from here...

I have it on good authority that she spends most of her days in her office crying.

About time.
Now let's see him actually take custody of the government, like he's supposed to.

And Dalen, even if he is a -- uh -- Republican. I would be the forst to admit if I thought he was doing a good job. He's not. He's doing a shit job.

But taking responsibility is something that he should be doing. And it is about time. Polls or no polls.

Let's not give this douche too much credit for doing what he was elected to do. It's like the Chris Rock bit: "You don't get extra credit for taking care of your kids. You're SUPPOSED to take care of your kids!"

I'm not personally giving him credit for anything more than "it's the right thing to say at the moment."

personal feeling about the man, and i use that term LOOSELY, aside, i think that if you're not goint to cut him a small piece of cake today then you're no better than those who pledge him their blind allegiance. sure it's probably something that should have been said a week ago, but he's saying it now and let's see if he builds upon it or, more likely, chops off my head and shits down my throat.

Thank you. She is a complete embarrassment to our state. I'm so glad I voted for Jindal.

Also, Mary Landrieu is not much better.

Yet....

edit: And isn't there an ambassadorial opening, somewhere, preferably insignificant (or on the verge of...)?

How about giving Brownie a run at the Faroe Islands (if they're sovereign... I know they have their own representation in the Euro and World Cups), or Estonia?

I think he'll need the points anyway toward his pension since he hasn't put in five years yet.

I agree with both Derek Phillips and Chase.

my perspective.....this is the first time in memory that he has taken responsibility for ANYTHING. Does this mean that he, personally, made the decision to say what he said, or do you think his admin. told him to tak responsibility. I'd have to say he took personal responsibility, because his admin. must have stock in DuPont with all of the Teflon they've coated him with since 2000.

Urkelian.

Rodney, you deserve a raise and a promotion.

I see no one is saying David Vitter belongs in the Senate. THAT dude is a fucking joke.

Jindal was easily the better candidate than Blanco, and I'm a yellow dog Democrat.

The only other time I can think of is when he eventually (after trying to pin it on George Tenet) took responsibility for using discredited intelligence in his State of the Union address.

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

Although this hasn't been Mary's finest moment, I think she's pretty decent most of the time.

I voted for Jindal. On a scale from 1 to 10. 10 meaning as good as George Bush, Blanco was/is a 1. I'd like to thank the racist in North Louisiana for her. And if I get one more fucking forward praising this slut, I will find starter of email and use their keyboard to bludgen them with it.
