Told you the Chargers aren't gonna win the AFC West. 0-2 & the next 7 weeks is NY Giants, at New England, Pittsburgh, at Oakland, at Philadelphia, Kansas City, at NY Jets. Then after a bye week & some easier games they close at Indy, at KC & home vs Denver.

Vikings fan here.

I haven't read this thread in its entirety (in truth, I am avoiding most sports related writing today) so I hope that I'm not repeating anyone else's opinion.

After week 1, this was my reaction: what a strange aberration! Daunte looked so good in the preseason. The defense appears better. My only consolation is that the Vikings still had a chance to win it with two minutes left in the game.

After week 2, my reaction: this will be a long season. My only consolation is that this loss counts only as one game. That performance deserved to result in chalking up three games in the "L" column.

What is the earliest you can hit the panic button?

I'd be hitting it. You guys got problems. Just wait till after you play the Falcs to figure them out, k?

I view this with a STRONG sense of schadenfeude. This is what you get when you jettison the league's best player. Sorry, you deserve it. I hope Red McCombs moves the team to San Antonio or LA, and Mike Tice is severely beaten about the chest neck and head.

I don't think Tice HAS a neck.

That Orton to Muhammad TD pass was probably the most impressive pass I've seen thrown by a Bears quarterback.

I think our rampant use of that small Asian boy to do the work punctuating our ideas/opinions has to violate child labor statutes.

And L.A. really doesn't want an NFL team. Right now, they have the best college football team in the nation - USC - and three games on Sunday (that all finish by 4 p.m.) 2 MLB teams, 2 NBA teams, 2 NHL teams, 2 MLS teams, great college teams of various sports, X-games, Pro beach Volleyball. Plus football stadiums are about the worst way ever to blow $400 million

And nobody of consequence wants to own the team that will play in said stadium... But Paul Tagliabure, for being the savvy commissioner of an even savvier sports league, has a real tunnel-vision for this.

He doesn't realize you don't need a team in a market to make money of it. (Rights fees probably go up from when LA had teams because now the metropolis gets every marquee game, and the entire audience is captive. Allegiance to Raiders or Rams isn't going to deter from watching a game.)

So, if the Vikes want to move, put 'em in Salt Lake and be done with it.

It seems to me that the Rams might as well have never played here there's so few fans left. I know more Dolphin & 49er fans in the market. Raiders however we still get 16 games a year from since they get great ratings for CBS & you see the gear everywhere. In fact their stores are in the malls here. I'd bet more tv's are watching the game here than in the East Bay. And you have to imagine when you get a tiny market like Pittsburgh or Green Bay playing there's more tv's watching it in this huge market than there. Football is the only normal tv show that cracks the top 10 in ratings. Everything else is CBS (CSI, Cold Case) & Mexican channels (Bumble Bee Man)
