Wow. Thank you for defining ratings for us.

I consider this album a 10. I ranked it as such on the lists. Anyone who doesnt like it is certainly entitled. Im sure everyone could argue against any album being a 10. Are there any 'true' 10's?

Wasn't there a thread about which favorites we still listen to all the time? NMH tops that list for me. If this album isn't a ten, then that makes the whole rating system pointless. Unless you just want to leave "10" out there as something all should strive for, but nobody ever reach.

12. Just above Loveless and below The Joshua Tree.

i went without hearing it until late last year and while it's good, it's not perfect. i'd give it about a 7 or 8.

Is "perfect" really what matters though?

Perfect just means without flaws. But "not having flaws", while important for diamonds, isn't that important in music.

With music what really matters is how good it is. Having flaws is just a small part of that (and flawed music can be much better than less-flawed music).

There is no way in hell this is better than Loveless!

I do what I can. Now hold my beer for me while I line up this shot.
