I'm running XP, and i've accidentally cut a vital document, trying to paste it into a cdrw. The paste failed, but now i've lost the original document, and it doesn't appear when i try to paste something again. So how do i view my computer's clipboard of the last few items that have been on there?

Yeah, I don't backup stuff either. Talk about habits that bite you in the ass.

It's likely still on the hard drive. You might be able to recover it using a program like Restoration.

Did you try to ctrl-Z in the folder you cut from?

Unless you installed a utility that keeps old copies of your clipboard, or you're using one of the newer Microsoft operating systems, there is usually only one copy of the clipboard.

You might, however, have an older version of the file -- check your temp directory.

Do what I do. Every time you think about sex save your document. That way you save your work on a regular basis but it's not a chore.
