Testing the waters before I waste my time YSIing if no one cares: I'm going to be ripping some live Tragically Hip stuff for my Ipod and figured while I was at it I'd make the fruits of my labor available for others to enjoy. Anyone interested?

Definitely interested. I picked up the box set this week but haven't had time to delve into the concert dvd. Should be good.

Hey, what's in that set that's not available on the separate releases of the DVD and best-of, anyway? And are there any new songs or different versions of older songs on the best-of? I just can't figure out why that boxset is $53 on Amazon, but the DVD and best-of bought separately would cost about $30.

The box set includes the 'Yer Favourites', double disc which is what's available separately which has 2 new songs. Other than that, there is the concert dvd 'That Night in Toronto' plus a second dvd which has all of their videos, some short movies put to their music and behind the scenes documentary. Also it's a limited edition, which may or may not be selling point.

I didn't realize you could get the dvds separately. I ended up getting it for $44 CDN.

You can get the best-of and the live DVD, but that DVD with the videos is exclusive (I did some searchin' around.) But $44 CDN, that's quite a bit cheaper than Amazon's $53.99 US! (Something like $37, but then shipping might kill the savings.)

Anyway, check back over the weekend when I get some stuff ripped . . .

Am watching 'That Night in Toronto' right now and it's kicking my ass. For the fans, if any around here, it was a worthwhile purchase getting the box set with dvd. They really give 'er in this set.

Strangely enough I'm watching this right now and there's one dude out front with a Nordiques jersey on. I thought of you.

You should still be into this band. They still bring it. I'm awesomely impressed, it's really fucking great.

And I also rediscovered 'Nautical Disaster' which I previously did not like.

Definitely interested, Tom.

The Hip are one of the best bands to come out of Canada and, unfortunately, not make big inroads into the U.S.of A..

I'll pm you,
Bill
