I don't think I left Colinswood on, but I've got it...

Top 3 for the year for me. I still think it's tough to beat Mass Romantic, but TC is a delightful record. Yay for delayed gratification!

That album is the Ish...
Stefani style, yo...

I just don't think about it all that often - I've been hung up on other stuff lately...

It's a very enjoyable album.
And none of the songs stick with me as soon as I take the CD out.
Not even after about 30 listens this year.

It's much better than "Mass Romantic" and almost as good as "Electric Version."

I've had this downloaded and on my mp3 player for like 4 months and still haven't listened to it. I think it's that awful cover.

Dl'ed it along with "Howl" from the same iTunes gift card. Best two-album purchase in years.

Me too...I sense a trend. I like the album a lot when I listen to it, but let's face it, an instantly forgettable album isn't a great sign. 'Letter from an Occupant' stayed with me for weeks. So did 'The Laws Have Changed'. I'm listening to this album shortly to remind myself.

I really like this album, The Bleeding Heart Show stays with me, but to even suggest this or EV is in the same building as Mass Romantic is just silly.

"Sing me Spanish Techno" is my new jam off the album, replacing "Bleeding Heart Show." I listened to it again, and while I don't tend to listen to power pop a lot, I really do like the record.

This is definitely one of my favorite songs of the year.

I simply can't understand the love for Electric Version. Inferior to both of their other albums IMO. Weird how divisive that album is.

This thread makes me want to make my own "best of" comp from all of the New Porn albums and the AC Newman album.

Hmmmm....

Really? Electric Version gave the Meadowlands and Guitar Romantic a real run for my 2003 record of the year. I think the production is amazing on that album. "From Blown Speakers" is just incredible

After my slight disappointment wore off I thought of 'Twin Cinema' as just another indie-pop record that's not too bad, fair to midland songwriting. Just another disposable record that most people will forget about soon enough. After more plays the songwriting, as well as the instrumentation started to stretch out a bit and became clear the band wanted to do something different with this one and it really shows in a good way. I have the first two NP reckids and they're decent but nothing groundbreaking...If I had to rank'em I'd start with the new one and work backwards.
