I just found out today that I have only two more weeks of 58 mile commutes left! So, I would like some suggestions on what to listen to. Each way is about an hour give or take. On Dec 1st. I start a new job closer to home and I want to enjoy the last 16 hellacious trips back and forth! So I have about 20± hours of time to fill with good music.

any suggestions? if it helps any I leave the house at 7:30 am aand leave the office at 5:30 pm and it's dark!

Another idea: shuffle Savatage's Gutter Ballet with a Harry Belafonte comp.

Hella fun.

While driving home in the dark, tape a flashlight to your dashboard so it lights up just your face for other drivers to see as they pass, then grimace frighteningly as you sing along with the Stooges' Fun House at the top of your lungs.

I agree with LA Woman for the morning. I was actually going to say something along the lines of Byrds or Flying Burrito Bros.

Evening, depending on the mood, I would go with M83 for a good mood, Clutch for a pissy mood.

I'll have to try this...although the WI troopers don't have much of a sense of humor. Could I just tape Chuck D's face to the side windows?

Edit: Chuck, can I use your pic?

let's see...historically I have liked and listened to: Tom Waits, the clash, the smiths, los lobos, late 70's, through early 90's stuff. but it can be anything that you think would be good for windshield-time. new or old.

Looking over the list so far, I see some that I had forgotten to put on the list like the Doors, the flying burrito bro. and some interesting ones I had never heard of like Swervedriver. These all sound interesting

...and yes, skip Thanksgiving.

On the road, I prefer Kings of Leon, Neil Young, The Tragically Hip, Aerosmith (Rocks), Stones, White Stripes, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Whiskeytown, The Who (Live at Leeds), Shooter Jennings (and any of his dads stuff), Cheap Trick
