I saw this movie last night and it bored me beyond belief.

I won't go into the details and be a spoiler but this series is on its way to suckitude.

Ohhh you're just a hipster snob that's all. :D

It wasn't boring, it was actually funny, the sold out audience we were in kept cracking up at the humor that was finally injected into one of the films.

It was a little fast paced in the beginning, which made it a teeny bit confusing if you hadn't read the book, but that's only because they had to try and cut the book down without fucking up the story and turning the movie into something four hours long.

It didn't suck AT ALL. It was pretty dark, quite creepy and damn good.

i'd have to agree with south pacific on this one. it's a great book because the story is great. unfortunately for a 2.5 hour movie most of the story suffers and the action scenes win out. i would have hated to be the one who made the decisions on what to keep and what to trash. i think they did a good job but unfortunately, i felt the time constraints really hurt what is a great book and could have been a great movie. the third movie is still by far the best, which is not a great feat considering the first two were INCREDIBLY boring. :(
i will agree with charli that some of the boy girl scenes were truly funny and the one in the tub with the mytle was particularly hilarious.

(rolls eyes) Look, how many times is the new dark arts teacher going to involved in some plot or duplicity with the bad guys?

Booooooooooooooooooooooooring, and incredibly predictable. It's clear to me that Rowling is trying to milk this thing for as long as possible.

The tub scene with Myrtle = creepy, in a bad way.

The forced cheeriness after the death of a fellow student = nauseating.

Harry's discovery that he has yellow fever = priceless.

So, I'm thinking maybe Animal Collective should do the soundtrack for the next Potter film. Wouldn't that just rawk an' shit.

.

Hmmm, only the first and fourth teachers were involved in plots of duplicity. The second was just a fake/nut who was harmless, and Lupin was actually there to protect Harry, not harm him.

Do you even READ the books??? Obviously not.

The books themselves are so much better. Goblet being my favorite out of the sixth, and I think they had a really tough task trying to put that damn film together without sacrificing a lot of the story.

So piss off.

This was a decent movie. The third was actually a good movie. The first two are among the most unwatchable movies ever made.

I didn't see the movie this weekend, but Goblet Of Fire was my favorite out of the first 5. Haven't read the 6th yet.

And, as to the books not being appealing, that was what I thought at first: just a bumch of hype. But, in this case, the hype is well-deserved. It's a damn good series.

And, havingonly seen the first 2 movies, I thought they lost a bit from the books, but that was inevitable. Still extremely enjoyable -- but probably moreso for someone who read the books and is able to fill-in-the-blanks.
