Guitar master Link Wray dies at 76

i heard this last night when i got home from super furry animals. it's sad. this guy was pretty great.

I saw him play maybe about 10 years ago and he was into his 60's then. Rocked like a fucking bastard.

Jeez. I think it was Pete Townshend who credited Link Wray as his main inspiration. A friend had one of his live albums from the early-mid '70s and holyshit it was some violent geetar destruction. It sounded like punk rock before there was punk rock.
