It seems pretty cool, but I really haven't listened to it much. There are some nice moments, but I don't think I'd buy it.

I would of never guessed this in a million years. :rawk:

I love this record and it is either one or two with them and Andrew Bird battling it out.

You will see my list with Shmoo poll by January 15.

Oh, newb. Obner exists for this time of year. We might even poll each other about it.

That makes a kind of sense... it's the Josh Rouse that seems out of character to me. In fact I see it on a couple of lists here. Surprising. I like it, but I am usually wrong...

I have heard two song on XM Radio via DirecTV with the guy singing. They were really good where with their last release I only remember her songs. I need to get to know this record before the end of this year.

Lorna - Static Patterns and Souvenirs

Colleen - The Golden Morning Breaks

In short: Lorna is in the vein of Low and Mazzy Star; soothing and dreamlike. Colleen is ambient, acoustic instrumentation that pulls you into its stream of consciousness.

it really is a great album. i thought that heart was a bit cheesy at times, where set yourself on fire is a little more rock with slightly deeper lyrics.

See Billy G, et al..my tastes are not THAT predictable ;)

Any way someone can YSI a track from this? I've actually seen it in a store around here for a fairly reasonable (for an import) price, and I was considering picking it up based on some of the descriptions I've read.

I'd really like to hear something first, though.

I'll see what I can do when I get home. It would be difficult to pick one track that 'represented' the album though. It's a little bit blues, a little bit funk, a little bit doo woop, a little bit jazz (etc, etc)

It might not matter too much. I just want to hear what he sounds like. Anything would be appreciated.

Actually, I've been listening to a burned copy I got from a friend for weeks...but I'm willing to give you credit nonetheless. ;)
