Going thru some stuff, I found my copy of this: Image

Checked it on eBay, and... http://cgi.ebay.com/Little-Roger-The-Go ... dZViewItem

The guy's trying to sell it for $25, about $23 more than he paid, probably.

I've also got some Beatles 45s on the original VeeJay, Tollie and Apple labels. Back to eBay to check on those. Also, Prince's Purple Rain 45 on purple vinyl, natch. Graham Parker's Hold Back The Night "single" (4 songs) on bubblegum-pink vinyl. And on Horn Records, Bruce "Baby Man" Baum (w/ Little Roger & The Goosebumps) Marty Feldman Eyes (set to Kim Carnes' Bette (Betty?) Davis Eyes :P )

Oh, yeah- another rarity I have is Rush's Farewell To Kings LP; one side is Rush, the other is CCR. Oops!

Anyone else?

Off the top of my head:

The original pre-Island indie 7" of the B-52's "Rock Lobster/52 Girls"--completely different recordings from the album versions. Somebody's selling it for $50 on Ebay.

Image

Neil Young's Japan-only Eldorado EP. Selling for $18 and up on Ebay.

Image

Negativland's lawsuit-invoking U2 EP. Proving Island Records was right, I found it filed in the U2 bin the day it came out.

I have 2 copies of Guns n Roses 'Appetite for Destruction' with the orginal cover on vinyl...

Also, have a Cassette copy of GnR's first ep, "Live like a &$*$*^ Suicide".

I have The Cure "Happily Ever After". That's the one thing I always see go for a couple of hundred that I own.

I own lots of out of print stuff that goes regularly for $50-150.

I've seen original facory records pressings of New Order "Movement" go for close to $1000 before and I used to own one of those. I never did like it though and probably only got $3-4 for it as a trade in.

I have this Wild Swans disc, too. But mine has bits where the metal is flaking off the disc. Can't imagine why anyone would pay much for this disc, even new.

I have many hip hop albums I could probably get decent cash for on Amazon/Ebay.

I have the original Body Count album.

But I'm not really willing to part with any of it, so...no.

Is this worth a lot? I've seen it around but never bought it. I remember listening to it many times as a record store employee in the early 90's...

I have it also...its' not going for that much though is it? I think I've seen it for $30-35 many times. I bought mine about 20 years ago for regular price, but if I didn't own it I could easily see paying that for it. Its a pretty great album and I don't mine paying 3X the average $ for an album I consider much more than 3X the average in terms of quality.

Hell I can remember 20 years ago when a significant % of new releases worth owning were only available as imports for around $25-30 a pop. We're pretty spoiled now by how easy it is to find stuff pretty cheaply.

Isn't that the Pink Parker ep? I've got that too - it's supposed to be rare, but I'm not sure how much cash it's actually worth.

I'm sure I've got a bunch of vinyl that's worth, um, something - but then again, maybe not. I've got a couple CDs that seem to command a few bucks (ie:The Morells Push and Shout, the Wrens Secaucus) but that'll all end as soon as the reissues hit.

I know the Orange Juice stuff is worth something.

I have some DJ Shadow singles that I think were only released in the UK so they might be worth a few bob.

I have a bunch of old stuff from Chess Records that my mom got when she was a kid.

The thing that styands out most is a Benny Goodman record on rainbow mosiac vinyl.

Not sure what it's worth, if anything. But is is cool as hell.

I have the vinyl single for "The Lovecats" by the Cure.

Image
The current ebay price isn't that much ($12)... but if it were in the Japanese version it would start at ($131)!

I have my Mom's copy of Alice Coltrane's World Galaxy on vinyl as well. I can't find it on ebay... but I do believe it's probably in the higher range because even the cd is not domestic right now.

Not much.

I would think so, since it was so controversial.

Paid $30 in '92 for a mint condition, never-been-played copy of Mothers' Freak Out! on vinyl. Also have some handmedown 45s from my grandmother that's supposedly worth some ducats. Other than that, I own some EPs and Japanese imports that might be worth no more than 20-30 smackers.

I also have the "R.E.M." ep from Green -- 7" vinyl.

REM issued a cease and desist to the band soon after its release, so I know it's rare. But is it worth anything?

I haven't even seen it offered on eBay and it's not even listed at AllMusic (althoug the rest of the band's catalog is).

I'm not sure, but I would guess that I do--I've got some pretty interesting shit on vinyl.

I have a few nice albums

KMFDM - Naive. The original version had unathourized samples on it and had to be recalled. They remixed it and rereleased as Naive/Hell to Go. The original goes for about $60 now. I bought mine the first day it came out for $20. I also have a version of Angst with a gatefold cover with a spraypaint stencil on it. Never priced it out though.

Devo - Hardcore Vol. 2, Oh No! It's DEVO (Infinite Zero), Wipeouters - P'Twaaang! Hardcore Vols. 1 and 2, plus Live: The Mongoloid Years are long out of print and run about $75 now. Same with the Infinite Zero remasters, though the price is coming down thanks to some rereleases by oldies.org. The Wipeouters album is a DEVO side project put out on Tone Casualties records, usually goes for around $80.

V/A - Death of Vinyl. Rare out of print compilation by DOVentertainment in Toronto. Features rare tracks from Zoviet France, John Oswald, The Tape-Beatles and other multi-media artists. I've been offered $50 for it, but I won't sell it.
