I don't even know who brogan is. Unless you mean blogan and are pronouncing it badly.

butter says that she could answer your question, but she won't.
Says it'll be a "valuable learning experience".

I'm not a flash guru by any stretch, but i think it has something to do with converting the text to a button object and including the link in the "mouse up" action. The other thing I've done before when I didn't want to f with it was to just stick a big invisible square button object over the text.

hmm.

well, here's the thing aaron - all of the other "pages" display links without any trouble and the formatting is consistent across all of them. this problem also actually comes and goes, which i find hilarious.

matt - tell "butter" i really don't have the time to learn this stuff and i would really rather we have the site based in html anyhow, but thanks!

I didn't say that! I never said that!

I'm assuming that you're linking within your Flash file, not to a URL. Am I correct?

Are you linking between movie clips or between frames or between scenes?

If it's between movie clips, I would check the levels on your file. If you run the debugger, it will tell you the level each movie clip is at.

if you're totally bored, go to www.bonsavants.com. click on the "dates" sub-page. words that should be hyperlinked include: Dear Leader, TT the Bear's, The Plan, etc. definitely linking to offsite URLs.

the text on that page is from one single text file. all links show up fine in a "normal" html page and what's more, actually show up in the other sub-pages (like the "about/band" page). that's the thing that really has me confused!

big sigh.

I don't know what you're implying here, but you're right.

well, it's kind of difficult to tell exactly what's going on from just looking at the .swf file. Are you using LoadVariable?
