The height of hardcore? - Angry Samoans - Back From Samoa, Bad Brains, Flipper, DOA, Replacements 'Stink', Descendents 'Milo'. Minutemen, Husker Du emerging.

This was when being British and looking weird could get you heavy rotation on MTV (and thus U.S. sales). Culture Club, A Flock Of Seagulls. Lavish vids from the likes of ABC. Haircut 100, Kajagoogoo, all '82. The Britsh were coming and the Heavy Metal Parking Lot crowd felt really, really threatened by the likes of Limahl (SP?) and especially Boy George.

And out of all relation to time and space, Neil Young drops 'Trans'.

I voted Thriller but could have just as easily voted Rio if it had been left in there. I am not ashamed.

People, stop hurting people...

You belong in jail for mentioning this album

Screw the haters. I'm voting for Rio too. What a great album, even if they did all look like male models. :D

Following closely behind:

Prince
XTC
Bauhaus
Priest
Maiden
Gabriel

Thriller notwithstanding, 80's production made alot of R&B acts suck very quickly. Eh.... :?

I like 80s production sometimes. That snare sound is pretty sweet.
