I played too, like most of you in Jr. High/High school. I think I stopped playing around 15 or 16. I still enjoy RPG PC games, currently playing Dungeon Siege II. At a sticking point though, that dragon keeps kicking my ass.

I played in HS. It was pretty good fun, but I remember combat being somewhat tedious and eventually my friends ruined things by equipping their characters with shit that allowed them to kill fuckin' Thor.

Most people know I used to play Magic on the Pro Tour, and that's a whole lot of ex- D&D players. Magic is pretty cool, but it has that fantasy element, so when you tell people you play it they always ask, 'is that like dungeons and dragons?' Then you have to roll your eyes and explain that you look down on the roleplayers.. pretty retarded... But Magic is cool and pays my bills.

OH! Do any of you have old Magic cards you want to sell me? Or friends with old cards. Always buying.

Having a good Dungeonmaster is key to having a well-played game.

For example, mine wouldn't let me carry around the 10,000 pieces of gold that I found in a sack or any bullshit like that.

I was kinda into Dungeons & Dragons but I never really played it.

I was more into the monster manuals and reading about all the spells and character classes and the fantasy art aspect. Not that that isn't pretty geeky but it's all relative.

The cartoon was good as well. To an 8 year old Tiamat was very cool. The best episode was the one with Demo-Dragon in it!

I was the exact same way. I didn't have the attention span to actually sit down and go through all those damn rules.

Just bought some TSR AD&D figures from Ebay for old times sake. I wanted to relieve early 80's memories and had to buy them.

One of these years I need to get a photo of my skeleton w/ guitar, painted with the Eddie Van Halen stripes. Came out perfect.
