Yeah Sponge had a few good songs off Wax Estatic, and the follow up wasn't bad either.

haha... absolutely!

in 1997, i joined the bte fan club and got a backstage pass good at any bte show anywhere. i still have it. and i totally tried to hook up with the bass player, and it would've worked had i not been 20 and not able to get into any freaking bar anywhere. damn.

summercamp - "drawer"

i got that song off limewire and it pops up from time to time on shuffle. still think it's a fun, by-the-numbers pop/rock single even though it was smack in the middle of the dishwalla, matchbox 20, wussy-white-boy-guitar-band kick in the late 90's.

edit: man, i still only have just over 500 posts? i don't know whether to be ashamed for lack of contribution or to wear it as a badge of honor that i have other things to do (having been around for quite some time).

I still love this song.

Actually to be honest, most of these 'one hits' generally bring back a lot of fond memories. Yeah, some of the songs are crap but who cares. It's like eating bad food. It's shitty for your health but we all do it anyway.

When I first heard that song I made myself listen to it all the way through, just so I would know who could create such an awful song and avoid the rest of their output.

My stance has softened with time, but still not a fan.

I heart Soul Coughing...

Now that Super Bon Bon was mentioned, I remember hearing that and Circles, but I don't remember any other Soul Coughing song getting play on radio stations I listened to.

I heard "Screenwriter's Blues", "Down To This", "Soundtrack To Mary", "Soft Serve", "Rolling", and "St. Louise Is Listening" as well as the two you mentioned.
