Most of my friends who would normally vote NDP are voting Liberal just to keep Harper and his conservatives out of office. While I do not want Harper in office, I don't think I can bring myself to vote "strategically" just to "maybe" keep him out.

There's something very wrong with the system when I have to vote to keep the "lesser of two evils" out of office instead of basing my vote on good policy and what I believe in.

I'm voting Liberal. I don't care for Harper or his social conservative leanings. Although I suspect I'm throwing my vote away based in the province I'm currently living in.

What exactly is "evil" about Harper/Conservatives?

I'm voting Conservative.

Truth is, I don't want to vote for anyone, least of all Duceppe, of course. They're all crackers. I would vote for Layton if he wasn't such an unfortunate douche. But the absolute need for strategic voting here rather than honest voting is breeding my apathy. I may just spoil my ballot if I go vote.

I don't want to be governed by a party that limits human rights and wants to elevate our involvement in that little party the USA has going on in the middle east.

i voted ndp based upon the state of my local riding. the conservative candidate has no chance of being elected, and the liberal candidate id like to give a piece of my mind because shes incompetant. as to the question of a conservative government, im not opposed to it. i think its time for the provinces to get back some of their roles, and the conservatives view on the economy is about the same as the liberals. the only thing that really scares me about the conservatives is if they go back into deficit. that really scares the life out of me about them.

Neither of which Harper has said they are going to do.

If the "rights" issue you're talking about is same sex marriage, all Harper has said is he would have a free vote in parliament...the same thing the Liberals did in the last parliament.

I guess it's better to vote in a party that has a 12-year record of stealing from the public purse to line their pockets and keep themselves in power.

Watch out for Western seperatism if Toronto puts these theives back in power...not to mention Quebec seperatism.

But the Liberal surplus is a lie, nothing but smoke & mirrors. Federal government spending has actually gone up under finance minister Paul Martin. The surplus's were created through cuts in transfer payments to the provinces and the raiding of the CPP fund. The surplus is really just downloading of the defecit to the Provinces and municipalities.

Will Alberta be the fifty-first state?

If so, how are we going to break the news to Puerto Rico?

What, you don't want Quebec?

I've always been under the impression that the Quebecois - excuse the lack of accenting - would go independent, not join themselves to another nation-state.

But, if they want in, I'm sure the Franco-Americans and pidgen French speakers in the north of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, would willingly welcome the Quebecois into our fold.

Most of my friends who would normally vote NDP are voting PC just to keep the Liberals out of office again.

I voted NDP in the last election. I think they won our municipal ridings but, in the big picture, it doesn't seem to matter.

I'm totally with you. The whole idea of having a democracy and being able to vote is to vote for someone/something you believe in.

I believe in the NDP and what they're doing and therefore plan to vote for them. I'm also pretty psyched to be in Olivia Chow's riding and hopefully put her in this time around.

It's sad the NDP has such weak representation in QC. They really are more in line with Quebecers lefty tendencies.

It's nice to live where I do in Toronto and walk by rows and rows of NDP signs on people's houses.

I'm voting for whatever party can keep the CPC out of my riding. In this case, the NDP have a good chance. So, it's NDP. I voted Liberal in the last election for the same reason.
