If Timmy is writing a blurb, that means a shitty power pop band made the Top 20.

You bastard. You are just mad at me because you wanted to see my fire patch. It's actually a cd that I am going to have to listen to a few more times.

300 words seem kinda long, don'tcha think? Look at last year's and see how long those are.

Last year, under 100 was the stated goal, but a lot of people went over. Mine this year is 258... but I wrote two last year, so maybe it balances out. *shrug*

Yeah, I'm afraid that I just tossed a tiny monkey wrench into the machine.

Sorry.

I have to work myself into a drug overdose or something to appreciate the one i'm writing for.

Why is appreciation necessary?

i dunno, i don't really like it and don't wanna crap all over an album that obviously a lot of people like. as opposed to my glowing reviews of everything else.

Don't worry; my blurb (like-not-love) will balance things out. Crap away.

So why are people writing blurbs about things they don't really like?

That's not how it worked last year. Doesn't seem like there's much point in having people write lukewarm blurbs for what are supposed to be our 20 favorite albums for last year.

chase felt last year's approach was a bit trite and went with a "never-heard-before" approach. Should give us a good mix of pieces. I think it's a great idea.

that seems pretty ridiculous, but i'll wait to read the results.

did he just assign albums that weren't on a person's list or was there some other approach?

You would think people were assigned the albums that were No. 1 on their lists.

Well, for mine, he asked me if I'd heard it (which I hadn't) and then hooked me up with a YSI. I listened to it once, and then wrote the blurb during the second listen.

It's possible that this might not work overall, but it's nice to try something different.

Well, in that case, I guess I didn't throw a monkey wrench. The machine was broken already. I'll get to work.

Interesting thing to say, considering your taste just a few years ago.

Same, except I haven't written mine, or really listened to it.

Need to go get some blank discs from Best Buy
