Depeche Mode - "Personal Jesus" (acoustic)
strips the single version down to its essentials and, in doing so, VASTLY improves upon the version that we all know so well.

Does that count?

In which case whenever Dylan sings it is a cover?

Mr. Postman - Beatles
(Do you) Believe - Macha
Whiter Shade of Pale - Annie Lennox
Sketches of Spain - Miles Davis (cf. other thread)

Hmmm. Triangulating your lifeworld's political development. I understand a little better now, and I feel increased levels of compassion... or actually pity.

I don't know what buccaneer first did "Friggin' In The Rigging (The Good Ship Venus)" but it's my favorite Sex Pistols track.

You're missing the sardonicness in Mike Patton's voice. You can hear him thinking dirty. Not everything has to be a 2x4.

Back on October 2, 1993 Suede were touring America with the Sundays, date I saw them in Los Angeles, but they were the headliner because of their brilliant debut. The Sunday were more popular but Suede were riding the wave at the time. I remember talking with a girl in line with me at the time of buying ticket for this show. She was buying tickets for the Sundays but I told her to stick around for Suede because they are a very good band. Well Bernard Buter was still in the band these days and they brought the roof down. They came out for an encore and played this song first and it blew everyone away, with its sexual energy that bands don’t display at shows very often. I found a live version of it and hope you enjoy.

Hold on Captain Indy...they are unabashed liberals AND working witH Rick Rubin for their new album...and you realy can't fuck with "Goodbye Earl."

They are good for what they are, and I suspect many around here won't admit it, but do feel the same way.

nah...i'm pretty sure they suck.
