dude! you have bunk beds??
I have a bunk bed.

It started out intended as a loft-type thing -- you could put stuff on top and save space, but then I moved it next to the window and decided I didn't want to block the window off, so now the underpart is the storage part and I sleep on top.

This just sticks out because it was weird/funny/scary.

The Snuggles bear was after me. He was still small, but aggressive with lots and lots of teeth and he kept after me even after I started burning him with lit cigarettes. It was...frightening.

That's fucked up -- I know someone else who had a nightmare about the Snuggles bear.

That someone else had that dream is somewhat disconcerting to me.

but.....do they make bunk beds larger than the twin size? i need room to spread out. plus, if you have company over. (or a spouse for that matter.)

i always wanted bunk beds when i was a kid. never got them. never even got to sleep on one at a friend's house. :(

oh, and i once had a dream that i was being chased by a half swami / half kangaroo man. scared me to death. i was, like, 6 years old.... and i still remember that dream VIVIDLY.

so weird.

A lot of overlap with the insomnia thread. Poor kids.

I used to have scary as shit nightmares when I was in my late teens. I would wake up stiff in the mornings from having all my muscles tensed all night. As a grownup, I'm not allowed to watch scary media and I only have bad dreams now if I'm really stressed.

When I moved here and started the new job I once woke up with a sprained ankle, presumably from sleepwalking. Weird. And contra K's theory. Though I do tend to not injure myself drunk.

Perhaps it's the Sta-Puff Marshmellow Man syndrome...? Your subconscious realizes it's having a nightmare, so it tries to think of the most un-nightmare-like entity it can, and that ends up being the foundation of the nightmare...? I'm no psychologist, though, just thinking out loud.

Mine's a twin. Ikea makes a couple of loft beds that can cater to a 53" wide mattress (which is full/double; twins are 38").

If I have company over, there's a guest room. (If it's spouse-like company, then we can always adjourn to separate beds after the...ahem...nocturnal activity. I have spare sheets.)

Bunk beds are over-rated. It's purely a space issue in my case. But there is this majestic "master-of-all-I-survey" feeling when I look out over my room (I have a master). It'd be nicer with a vaulted ceiling though.
