...where you really don't feel like being an adult? i am sitting at home, waiting for a phone call about a job so i can get back to a woman about another job. this is likely to cause a panic attack because i have no idea which job to take much less how to handle the situation maturely (is that even a word?) and i just want to crawl in bed and not think about life.

yeah. end rant.

Yes, and you are reminding me of how NOT FORWARD I am to have to be looking for a new job in a couple of months :(

Count your blessings, not many have the "problem" of having to choose between two offers.

As long as you're not jerking them around and playing one off against the other, a simple "Thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I decided to pursue a different opportunity." should suffice.

i know, i'm appreciative. the problem is i might have to go in for a second interview for the job i'm waiting on, and i hate having to make the first job wait for me, but i sort of need them to. and i've been unemployed for over a month and neither of these are super-attractive offers but i just want this shit to be done!

Unless you absolutely need the $$ for bills, hold out for one that you want. I have been between jobs twice in 3-4 years, average of 3 months each time. Holding out another month for something much better is worth it. Also, I am willing to help with some stuff if you need it, resources (check indeed.com), resume editing (I am very good at this)...send a PM if interested

Dang, I forget all about the networking that can be done on Obner....

Seriously though, my current job is fairly easy - I basically review people's phone cellular phone bills and try to make sure there are no errors - I could try to make it sound as sophisitcated as possible, and there's a lot that goes into it, but when it comes right down to it that is what I pretty much do.

The company that I used to work for, Western Wireless was purchased by Alltel last year and a big percentage of the workforce here in Washington is being eliminated - company-wide the layoff percentage is probably less than 10%, but our jobs are can be done more easily and cheaply by Alltel's employees at their headquarters in Little Rock, AR. My wife worked here as well, but her job was done in September - she's currently contracting at Microsoft.
