Totally forgot about last night, but I'll be recording tonight and tomorrow's. Hopefully they'll replay the first two so I can grab them, too.

Did it show the Philosopher Soccer Match?

If anyone has a link to this, I'd love to get it. I need this like pants need piss.

Possibly their finest sketch, other than Sam Peckinpah's Salad Days.

i loved monty pithon as a teen.
i tried to watch a few episodes recently and could barley force a smile.

they were hit and miss and when they missed it was painfull.

the "best of's" are still solid.

I have the complete Flying Circus box set and got sidetracked somewhere around Disc 2.

I think this is an inherent limitation in the sketch format. You simply can't write 15 great sketches an episode, even if you are Cleese, Chapman, Palin, Idle and Jones.

Show me the sketch show that was (or isn't) hit or miss.

My complaint about last night's Chapman tribute is that they cut quite a few sketches short before climax. Climax, guv, know wha' I mean...gor...

I forgot about this thread.

Thank you, Rads.

Let me just say that...

Last night they ran both the "Upper Class Twit of the Year" skit and a WHOLE HOUR of Gilliam's animation!!!

I was so sorry that I gave up pot.

Not anymore. It vanished and I had to replace it with Tears For Fears Mullet Fonz.

It was a still from a PBS short about Einstein's elevator experiment, by the way.

I think Mr. Show did very well with the sketch format. I think there's maybe 3 total that I don't laugh out loud when viewing. Their segues, on the other hand, were spotty at best.

I've been taping these, but haven't had time to watch one yet.
