Damn, Phil. Do you have documentation about the instructions you've had, as to not letting him go until the scheduled breaks? Or is it your word vs someone else's?

We've all got it in writing.

I feel bad for the kid, don't get me wrong, but as a teacher, most kids don't go to the bathroom to pee. That's why they're on scheduled breaks.

Anyhow, either way, i'd be fucked. Fucked for letting him go to the bathroom, fucked for not letting him go.

This is why i got a degree? To get sandwiched in between beauracracy and mother bears?

and it's a middle school, 6th - 8th. Not elementary.

They're only in school from 9 - 2:45, with a bathroom break right after lunch.

Do the math, it's not that long. Not that I agree with the scheduled breaks, but our kids have NOT proven to be trustworthy, and the rules are there for the kids who abuse privileges, and everyone has to be upheld to the same rules.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FROM 9-2:45?!!

I was in school from 8:15-3:15 (in middle school)... now i'm in school from 7:40-3:45!

I guess that'd be true about any job, but it feels like it's extra true of teaching. Maybe because that's what I'm trying to do...

all over her desk

instead of getting a janitor
or taking some sort of action to prevent
complete embarassment of the poor girl

they put the desk in the hallway
right before the bell rang

there's under 300 kids in the school

im pretty sure the girl wanted to kill herself for a while after that
