"A college sophomore will be smoking pot in his dorm room, during which time he will open his mini-fridge to grab a soda or beer. While doing that, he will glimpse a bottle of soy milk. At that, he will realize, In Spanish, soy milk means 'I am milk'. He will proceed to laugh -- for six hours".

This pop culture reference has gone over my head. I'm proud of you, Montague.

He was the celebrity announcer on the particular installment of "in the year two thousand..." to which I am referring. In fact, he delivered the lines I quoted. I wouldn't expect you to know that, though, since it ran in Nov '00 (if I recall correctly); might have been the Badly Drawn Boy episode of Conan.

You deserve some kind of ree-ward for "Obtuse Yet Ultimately Rewarding" thread topic.

Like maybe a bronze statue of Dennis Miller, circa 1986.

His eyes are really green in that picture. Drinking antifreeze again green.

I was just going to comment on how that picture kind of freaks me out a little.

I bet Bob would do a great job in an off-off-Broadway production of Love, Liza

Reminds me of the gravitas-off between Stone Phillips and Stephen Colbert.

It was my first exposure to BDB, and it levelled me. It was just "Once around the block", but I had been in a bit of a musical funk, realizing that the emotive loudSOFTloud shee' that I had taken to in the previous three, four years was not doing it for me. To wit: I had just seen At the Drive-in on Letterman about a week before, and whatever it was that they played from Relationship of Command was atrocious.

It was then that I realized I was well on my way to Eric Clapton Towne.

One-Armed Scissor. Not a great performance of it, either.

I'll have to give partial credit to the Tosa-side Stone Creek Coffee, as it was in ordering my mint meltaway latte on soy that I remembered, In Spanish, soy latte means 'I am latte'.

Also, this memory led me to an erection, as I next recalled the Mexi-Mormon with whom I shared the joke, way back when.... She was one of them and a half, but fine as hell; great ass, and really liked Soul Coughing.
