Uninteresting bands sure make for uninteresting threads.

Oasis were legendary? The Cure are one of the best bands of all time? Morrissey's comments are sour grapes from a grumpy old man? It's all proof of just one thing: most of you knob twiddlers are still goddamn children.

Because Rads has the "quality" market cornered and evaluated. Everyone else, just give up.

these guys are the new SR-71

its because someone is paying you to do so

How the fuck does commenting on Morrissey lead to proof of that conclusion?

It's proof when considered in addition to the reverance of Oasis as legendary and the classification of the Cure as the best band of all time--the additional context that wasn't included in your quote.

Radcliffe needs no proof. He is Radcliffe, Spreader Of Contempt.

(though I gotta admit, going on about New Radicals CAN be a bit much at times.

That was part of the original quote, I was just interested in how my statement constitutes proof of my musical immaturity.

If you think that a person doesn't get a greater sense of accomplishment by working for something rather than having something handed to him then you either a) haven't lived long enough, or b) have had everything handed to you.

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and going with a).

I saw them on Charmed, so I know they're real. That Charisma Carpenter was hot that time on there, too.

Oasis legendary? I would never ever say that!

Also splates reminds me why I shouldn't post on this board anymore.

edit: OK, I did say legend but personaly don't think they are legendary. People have their own taste shocker!

why anyone takes what that fag Moz says seriously is absurd.

Wasn't this Arctic Monkeys album ranked as number four or something in the greatest British albums of all time?

I'd say Morrissey's comments were pretty true. And I agree with spoon that he wasn't really attacking them, so much as warning them.

I'm 32 and have busted my ass in school for the last 13 years, so I'm going to use an academic metaphor. If I suddenly struck scientific paydirt and got myself a Nature paper on my first submission to a journal, I wouldn't give a flying fuck about what some old scientist would say about how I would feel better about myself if I had been slagging away for a decade in the lab. Some people get lucky and stumble onto something great (or massively successful, so not to make a qualitative judgement) and some don't. They've got to grind it out the hard way. I've been doing the latter for the last decade and I wouldn't begrudge anyone their good fortune if it happened to come quickly. That's not childish, it's maturity.

Oh shit the Noel was Gallagher.

News source from NME, Noel Gallagher & a load of Oasis fans.

What a fucking nightmare.

I have Arctic monkeys arguments with my nephews every time we meet. The latest is how cool the monkeys are, because despite all the hype they have kept the "indie cred" by refusing to appear on Top of the pops and a few other programs. They forget that before the buzz they appeared on CDUK one of the most lamest mainstream programs over here. Hell even Nirvana appeared on Top of the Pops, although Kurt decided to eat the mic & take the piss.

But they soon jumped at the chance to be on SNL.
