I'd like to hear this.

Anyone who's a fan of melodic Britpop should have some Snow Patrol in their collection.

I never ever heard one thing recorded by them. I did see them at SXSW in 04, and was so turned off by how boring and out of tune they were live, that I wrote them off. Did i make a mistake?

Anyone?

Same thing happened with The Bravery at SXSW 05. At the same venue even. But I've seen other artists kick ass at Waterloo, so maybe they just suck.

At least, I'm positive that The Bravery sucks and that I'm not missing out on shit.

Give Snow Patrol another chance. When I first heard them (right around Songs for Polar Bears), I wasn't too impressed. I then heard Reindeer Section (sort of a Scottish supergroup - Gary Lightbody does most of the vocals) and jumped back into Snow Patrol. They're wonderful.

Excellent band. Seem to be shooting for the mass market these days, but who cares. Final Straw was great.

I think the production on Final Straw made them - there's so much ear-candy and stuff. A little voice in my head says that it's all a ruse, but that's a great album nonetheless.

they played the heavier songs from the album a couple of weeks ago, I thought most of the tracks were as good as the ones from final straw, some just reeked of bad mid 90s alternative rock.

Does anyone have the first album that I could snag? I have it in hard copy but it's @ the house in the basement. It be nice to have it now to compare to the new record.

Anyone?

Is the Final Straw the first one? If so, yes, I have it on disc as well as otherwise.

Nope. Wuss UK. Some of the better to reside in that genre, but still firmly entrenched therein, nonetheless.

I saw them years and years ago when Gary fancied himself as an Ian Curtis type. I guess he changed his direction for some reason.

Ker-ching!
