A friend of mine who, on matters of music, I sometimes a vehmently agree with, others vhemently disagree with, was just talking up this band.

I've seen some of y'all mention them before.

My friend sez:
"I'm not so sure that it's toddie-type music. But.. you never know."

What do you all think of them?
Not necessarily in relation to me, but just in general.

I like it, but I am a sucker for foreign lyrics, psychadellic prog and the occassional Jazz Flute solo.

So, you're a Les Orme fan?

I'm sure I'd find it to be intriguing if I had heard him/them, but I haven't.

I like Dungen a lot. Definitely psychadelic with some jazzy jams. If you haven't heard a track, I'll see if I can YSI one later. It's probably something that's best heard, not described.

It was My #1 for 2004.

That said, they did an acoustic in-store @ Amoeba SF 6 months ago and I was completely underwhelmed.

I was impressed with the couple of Dungen songs I recently heard on obner mixes. I'm definitely going to check them out. I don't even remember much of what they sounded like but I remember liking them.

Also, the flute is the most underrated instrument imo. It might in fact be my favorite instrument.

acoustic instore is definitely not the way to witness this band live, however seldom they come around. i saw them at siren fest last summer and it was great. the record is deliciously psychedelic and serves as good fodder for conversation with swedish girls. some very cool songs, with the aforementioned jazz flute solos (alas, no aqualung quotes)

if you're into pronouncing things correctly so that native speakers might have some clue as to what you're saying, yeah, that's how you say it.
