So apparantly at my school a freshman guy had been missing since early saturday morning and today they found him dead inside a dumpster behind his dorm. Nobody knows why, how, or what, all I know is that all of a sudden i don't feel very comfortable where I am anymore.

Oh and this dumpster is only about 300 feet from my dorm.

even though I live ghetto adjacent, its really quiet around here. the only cool thing we had was a drunk driver knock down a few power line poles and keep driving - not sure what they were driving but it had to be solid.

If somebody did him in (then again why would he kill himself in a dumpster, unless he's just a very efficient guy?), it's probably just over drugs anyhow. You owe anybody for an eightball?

Given the locale of the crime scene, I'd bring in The Toxic Avenger for questioning.

Now I'm hearing conflicting reports about whether or not the guy was actually found and whether or not he's in the dumpster. But I did hear that they found a bunch of blood in it. So basically I still have no idea whats going on. I think I'll be staying in tonight.

That "Do Not Cross" is a mere recommendation. There's no way it will hold up in court.

Ask them to drag the dumpster under your window.

I live on the South Loop of Chicago. What is slowly becoming an upscale neighborhood is also a massive dive and gangster area.

The four corners down the street of me, Wabash & Roosevelt, are a haven for the homeless and the con artists. Trying to walk to the L, the grocery store or the Starbucks even, has become a pain in the ass. Hell, some girl last year was mugged at TEN AM in front of the L station. Which is heavy populated and police usually hang out nearby. Crazy.

It's gotten so bad that you get panhandled IN the grocery store now( a giant Jewel-Osco). I've had to report a couple con artists to the Jewel managers. ha

10 AM at the L station? Damn. I think that's worse than when my brother was mugged at 2 PM in front of a McDonald's in Milwaukee.

Still nothing new to say, but police and medical personnel are still hanging around that dumpster. I couldn't get a good look, but it seemed like they were doing all kinds of stuff around it. It's just getting stranger. One popular rumor going around is that the missing person in question got really sick drunk and passed out and his drunk friends didn't know what to do, so they shoved him down the garbage shute. I hope that's not true.

this totally reminds me of that chaos theory "csi" which is a bad episode, but that's beyond the point.

Go stand on top of your roof and try and throw empty beer bottles into the dumpster.

When I first moved into this flat there were two murders and a firebombing - ACTUALLY ON MY STREET - within the first year but it's been reasonable quiet recently. Possibly because everyone else is dead.

It's weird though. When I lived down on the tranquil south coast of England I actually missed the threat of random, senseless, violence.

For one thing, it makes going out to the cornershop for milk and bread a lot more exciting than it might otherwise be.
