Who drew this? The guy who was in the hatch when Desmond arrived? The scribbled, circular "I am here." is the work of somebody going stir-crazy, with a lot of free time on their hand, and trying to figure out what all this means.

They also wrote it in invisible ink when they were locked in, and the paths from the swan leading to Xs look like escape attempts, so I'm going to say it was somebody's prisoner.

This is just annoying. I hate this.

I also hate not knowing where Michael, Walter, and Desmond are. How did Walt get computer access before to contact his dad, and how come he hasn't seemed to ever since?

I think the writers are:

1. Messing with our heads

2. Paying attention to internet fan comments

3. Combining the above 2

Because they got to the point last week where fans were asking why Jack and Locke were being manipulated so easily by Gale, why Jack was so obnoxious and Locke was so passive aggressive. This week, Locke and Jack stop fighting and get a better grip on themselves.

It's like the characters went, shit I'm acting like a pussy, I'd better get it together.

Pretty cool.

(Except, you know, the episodes were written & filmed months ago.)

Killer episode, and it's one that made the case for watching the series on DVD simply because you won't have to wait a week for the next episode. A coworker of mine decided to stop watching the show after last week's episode. Missed out big-time, I think.

What Simpleton said, plus Jack and Locke are bound to be at each others throats again in the next episode, now that Locke is sworn to protect Henry.

I kind of think that would be null and void as it's clear that he lied and I thought Locke added that qualifier. 'If you are who you say you are...'

Finally an episode that delivered the goods.

The ending was seriously one of the best of the series. Now how to get that wall to drop down again, sans leg pinning, so they can check it out. Or do you think that Locke may try and do that by himself ala the Hatch?

About Walt, Michael. When Michael was on the computer, and apparently was messaging with Walt. We dont know it was Walt. It would have been easy to play along with the other persons questions.

Another question. If you are Sawyer, and have all the drugs, why be an ass about giving them up? I know it's his character's role to be the bad dude, but holding out on the drugs isnt like holding out on the guns. Are we to believe that if someone was dying and needed a drug Sawyer had, he would just let them die, or trade them something for the drugs? That plotline is kind of weak. No one would do that.

Anyway... let's hope they keep these good episodes going, though I think they are going to break again soon until the end of the season...

Back on track!

He didn't explicitly condition his protection on that, he just sort of implied it.

Locke: <opens armory door> Who are you?
Henry: blah blah balloon crash Minnesota
Locke: Alright, you have my word.

But even if he meant that, I think he'll step in. Especially now that Henry actually helped him.

You're probably right, but I can't believe anyone would keep their word after all the evident deception. I wouldn't give a shit if he saved my life or not, there's 40 other people on the island whose safety has to be considered.

Naw, I don't think we're supposed to believe that, but in the many instances such as Libby's, where people are not in dire need, he can use the medicine to get what he wants. I think that's more believable, but it does seem a little prickish even for Sawyer to do this with drugs and not just ordinary creature comforts.

Is anybody else surprised that the Hanso project is still in full effect? Didn't we all assume it ended in the 1970s or something? Yet still the drops.

ALTHOUGH now that I think of it, the situation is similar to a Philip K. Dick short story, in which the residents of a space outpost are given regular shipments of supplies by a fully automated production system. I forget exactly why (I think it kept sending them useless rations and they were starving maybe), but they end up having to trick the system in order for it to break out of its routine so that someone would come and rescue them.

"Gale", despite the obvious fact of being a captive of the castaways, seems to me to have been already estranged from the Others to some extent. My guess is that he too might be afraid of them - they might have done something to him - and that he'll try to use that for leverage with Locke when he needs protection.

My "hunch" is that he'll at least claim that's true, Ish. But that's only "conjecture," because how would I know whether that happens.

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't be possible to have South Park-level turnaround on their content. But I bet they've added or changed scenes from episodes in the can between wrap and airdate due to internet feedback.

I'm late here but I thought it was a great episode and made up for some of the more mediocre moments throughout this season.

They do a great job of making Locke look younger in his flashbacks. I'm amazed by that.

Was that Sayid's long lost love having her house inspected?

Did Gale actually make it to the computer? He was behind Locke when the blast doors went up wasn't he?

Jack lied to Kate. That'll have repercussion, probably.

Ray DeSoto's a sumbitch.

The girl buying the house was latina, wasn't she??

I also wondered whether Gale actually made it to the computer. All of the noises you heard were the same ones that sounded when the clock hit 0 a couple episodes ago.

I agree, the last two have been great. Looking forward to next week.

It's funny about Locke in the flashbacks. I keep thinking he's meant to look younger than he actually does. His "dad" doesn't look that much older than him.

Kevin Tighe is only about 8 years older than Terry O'Quinn.

Now for some real Iraqi torture.

I'd like to sit down at a table with Jack and Sawyer for a little hold 'em. Smug pricks.

I think the main point of Locke's flashback was to help establish just how much it means to him that "Gale" didn't leave him. Here's one person he trusted who had the opportunity to completely screw him over, but didn't. I think Locke is at least going to try to honor his word even though the guy lied. This is obviously going to create a conflict between him and Sayid and Jack.

But then, why didn't "Gale" try to escape? Maybe Ish is onto something, or maybe he's just afraid of getting caught by Russo again.
