Somebody posted on the blog analysis the idea that Michael was either:

a) caught by the Others and brainwashed into being a new spy for them
b) caught and brainwashed into leading the castaways into a trap
c) offered Walt or a chance to join them and be with Walt in exchange for betraying his plane crash friends
d) delusional, and thinking that the Others are a lot weaker than they really are

or there's always the possibility that he didn't really find them. And his frustration with being unable to find them led him to the realisation that he'll need Jack and Sayid and everyone else to help him. Even if it means lying to them.

why do we think that it's from walt? i'm staring at it now and i don't see any way that it says walter or walt or anything. maybe Leaf Pole, or Foof Gale or something. is there a better shot of it?

i realize now that estone is full of crap. i read that whole detailed synopsis frosted posted, and there's not a word about walt.

Surely we have some newage/hippies around to explain the magnet theory about healing folks. We've heard that the island has magnetic properties several times and now in consecutive weeks. We now know Locke and Rose had health issues before the island and were "healed" at arrival. We know when Jack and Sayid explored the hatch, the key around Jack's neck was grabbing the concrete telling us there is a big ass magnetic thing down there.

The island's magneticism will be a major player in the end IMO... probably why Dharma was there in the first place for whatever reason.
