I've got a lot of free time on my hands and access to some torrent sites. I've used this method to check out a lot of shows that I'd heard about but missed when they originally aired or didn't feel like starting to watch halfway through the series.

Such as Lost, The Prisoner, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dead Like Me, Six Feet Under, and all the adult swim shows, since we don't get most of those up here.

So they can be shows that are on tv right now or decades old. I don't care. Just tell me some I should check out.

The Wire
The Shield
The Corner was a good miniseries, too.

Right now it goes:

1. The Shield
2. Lost
3. South Park
4. Simpsons

If it weren't a fantastic final season for The Shield and AD was still on the air, my list would like like this:

1. Arrested Development
2. Lost
3. The Shield
4. South Park
5. Simpsons

Oooh, The Prisoner...good one. I forget which episode number it is, but the one where #6 convinces #2 that he's working for #1 (he pretends to look for secret messages in an opera record), is utterly brilliant.

Stuff I've got on DVD:

The Adventures of Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse
SCTV
Star Blazers
The Electric Company
The Young Ones
The Prisoner
The Avengers
Penn & Teller's Bullshit
Sharpe's Rifles et al.
Horatio Hornblower
The League of Gentlemen
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Sealab 2021

Shows I would kill to own (i.e. release me dammit):

Get Smart!
Lovejoy

That show was pretty great.

I watch way too much crap tv... I really should learn to just put the remote down and leave the tv off.

For entertainment/drama/information:
Lost
The Sopranos
No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain
Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Real Time with Bill Maher
Cyclysm Sundays on OLN
Top Chef - although I'm kinda disappointed with how this one is turning out

For giggles:
8th and Ocean --- have you guys seen this? It has to be one of the funniest shows on television, the premise being reality tv with models in Miami. So. Fucking. Funny.
Real World - although I'm ready to throttle anorexic psycho.

I'm looking forward to the Elizabeth I mini-series that HBO is going to show soon too.

Is The Corner like those other two? Because I get the feeling I really wouldn't like those shows.

Just watched some Tick cartoon for the first time in years. The live-action is on my list. Scrubs and Arrested I already love. So I'll trust you on Sledge Hammer then.

I used my downloading to check out the UK version. It was pretty good. I suppose checking out the US version wouldn't hurt.

Okay, maybe I will check out the Shield then. Since that's two recs. South Park and Lost are gold. The Simpsons is just painful these days.

Not a big Rosie fan, I'm afraid.

Young Ones I didn't really like. It was too erratic for my taste. AQTF I don't find funny at all either. Sealab is amazing, though. The rest of those I'm not familiar with.

Twin Peaks I just checked out. I'll definitely check it out on dvd when I have money. Homicide doesn't seem like something I'd like but maybe I'll give it a shot.

AD and Lost I love.
DH and OC I loathe.
GA, RC and BD are already on my list.
WS I will look into.

Okay, two recs means WS is on my list. Shield too, I guess.
Daily Show I watch daily. Entourage... I just couldn't stand the characters. After one episode, I stopped watching and vowed never to again. They just seem like exactly the kind of assholes I hate in real life.

Maybe I'll check out the others.

Alright, I'll add Sopranos and Bourdain to my list. Bourdain is what that Kitchen show that was partnered with Arrested was based on, right?

Wonder Showzen
The Office

That's just recent. If we were to get into a list of my alltime favorite shows I'd be here for weeks.

I would use watching tv with puma as an excuse to get close to her.
