I think you're giving gunshots too much credit. If they don't hit any vital organs, they shouldn't be any more serious than Locke's leg injury, particularly if they pass through the body. It's telling to me that Libby took 2 in the abdomen, rather than the chest or face.

I think Libby will at least get some deathbed time in the next episode. Too many loose ends for her to just be dead and that's it.

I hated Michael until he shot Ana Lucia. Way to go, dude, but I kinda wish "Gale" had done it. He's awesome, and, really, Michael still sucks.

Anyone else think that Desmond is the leader of the Others? Might explain his total disappearance among other things (like getting Locke to press the button in the hatch, etc.).

Ana L is probably done. Michael was standing three feet away with intent to kill. Libby, on the other hand, was pure accident. He was startled. They'll be able to patch her up so that she can stick around long enough to reveal that it was Michael, and then die after she reveals something big to Hurley, or the group.

I still don't buy her as an Other.


And I like Henry's implying that he was coming for Locke when Rousseau caught him. The Others aren't likely to give up on that. Which means Henry will have to double back later and try to get Locke himself again, or the Others will reconvene and send someone new to get him. Or, knowing John, he'll turn himself in to sate his curiosity. Like when he wanted Jack and Kate to let the monster take him.

My guess is that she's in a coma for a couple episodes, giving Michael time to make his play.

so, i just re-watched this at lunch. anyone notice that something is dripping behind libby after michael shoots her? what the hell?

like where behind her?

like either on the wall, or just in front of the wall. sounded like water dripping. like maybe a bullet grazed her and hit a pipe?

you could hear it more than see it. does that make sense?

yeah, but both bullets hit her squarely. but it could be (like I said to Mayor) that one or both passed through her. or maybe somebody's just peeing in the corner.

If I remember correctly, I think the shot was of Libby laying on the floor and you could hear/see water dripping from the ceiling into a pool behind her (just one of the usual pools of water in the hatch I thought).

I didn't really think of it as far as the plot, but rather assumed it was just to heighten the intensity of the scene.

i just watched this episode. HOLY SHIT. god i love this show.

another thought. in the previews for next week, we only hear them say "she's dead". nothing about libby. perhaps libby is still alive and henry has left with her. this would go along with the "libby is an 'other'" theories.

i don't think henry took anybody with him. i think libby's just alive.

It was a series of brief flashes. The ones I remember:
Jack crying, narrator says "As their hope wanes..."
Hurley: "I thought you were [got?] better." (to michael? libby?)
Eco falls out of a tree/off a cliff, pretty far.
Michael standing in what looks like a bare hatch room, narrator: "Michael controls their destiny" or some such.

If I were you, I'd be glad. The previews always show too much.

If not for the preview, we wouldn't know if Michael was dead or alive, and we'd be left with even more questions. I feel like that's more what the writers would intend.

Anyway, Michael's alive. You hear someone say "She's dead", not "They're dead" leaving the possibility that only Ana or Libby was killed and not both. Michael appears to have been successful in motivating everyone to go after the Others, but in the last shot of the preview, you see him standing alone in Gale's cell.

You really never know with those things, other than the few obvious things they give away. They always pull a lot of tricks with editing to make it seem like things are going a certain way, and always that the next episode is going to be really exciting and fast-paced. Really, as a general rule, trailers and previews are misleading.

Really? He deliberately shot himself in the arm. Unless Gale was supposed to have killed him, I don't know why you'd think he was dead.

That wasn't all that clear. It looked like he was pointing the gun near his chest. He fired, and that was the end, right? I thought it happened fast enough as to not be obvious.
